Unhappy Door Locked Issue

Hello,

I started my car this morning to warm it up in the cold. Came back out to go to work and it locked itself. Is there some specific thing I should not be doing to not have automatic locking lock me out?

Thanks.

I had the same thing happen to me. It turned out to be a bad remote. When it started locking itself the remote would no longer unlock the doors when I pushed the button and the lights flashed randomly when I got near it. I would be sitting in the car and the doors would lock on their own. New remote fixed it. Hope this helps.

Only thing I have hear of that is close to that is if you unlock with the remote and do not enter the car, it will re-lock itself after a minute or two. But I swear I had a similar situation as the OP several winters back, twice in fact. Never did figure it out, fortunately it was in my garage so the spare key was handy.

I thought the same thing. When I got the new remote it fixed it but when I had both remotes on my keychain at first the problem persisted. It had something to do with that bad remote being close to the car.

One time I was sitting in the car and got out and the alarm went off. OP this may not be your issue but just thought I would share the experience.

it does lock itself, i opened my car from inside the house did something for 5 mins or so and then went to the garage to grab what i was gonna from the z and just as i was near the z i heard it lock itself wtf?

Also happened a while back i was at the gas station and left the keys in ignition radio on car off, went outside to put air in tires and it locked me out.

car senses that it is too cold out and that engine temperature is not at optimum point, so it locks doors to keep you from reving her. Wait a minute longer and she should open up to you.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Well alrighty then! I assume that's a joke? As far as xxxlino's post, the first scenario is what it is supposed to do so that if you accidentally unlock the car without realizing it, it will relock. Second scenario - don't have a clue.
