Default LED Footwells

So, I'm trying to install LED's in my footwells but I only want them to go on when my headlights are on is there anyway I can tap into a headlight wire, and run them off that? If not would the best thing be to just run them off a switch?

I was getting some car wash stuff in wal-mart the other day and saw those LED's for like $20 and you can buy a $10 switch for them that plugs into the cigarette plug. You can run them under the car mats. IDK about quality, and most people wouldn't put wal-mart stuff in their car, but thats an easy option esp. for what you want.

or you could tap into the parking lights.

I would suggest hooking them up to the dome lights. There is a tutorial on this site for that, but for CCFL's. LED's should be easier.

Use a relay and wire them to the door switches, so when the door is opened they get power?

But yeah, if you want them on all the time at night, wire them to the parking light circut.

I think nismo makes a kit for the 350z, but it JDM only. I've seen a couple on the boards.. I'm not positive if they were nismo or Nissan OEM.

you can get some at advance auto. they are 3 leds on one strip and you can wire them into the fuse box. just pick one that is on while there is constant power to them only when the key is in. i did this for a buddy of mines g35 and g37

Why would you want the led's to turn on with the headlights? What if you want to turn the led's off without turning the headlights off?

I'd go with a switch or tap the wire to dome light or door light.
