as for taking out the headliner.. the most hardest part for me is the rear plastic pieces. since they all lock with one another.. so i took off all the rear plastic pieces and wrapped those in cf fabric as well since it was out
I can't see the bubbles. Maybe you can take a syringe and put some sort of adhesive in it and inject those areas with the bubbbles and try to smooth it out. G/L Going to do mine tomorrow.

it did when i used the 70.. but the 90 i have no idea.. but i think i'll get a syringe to inject some adhesive into the bubbled areas

The best suede out there is hands down alcantera. Its expensive but well worth it. There is no soaking through with too much glue and its stretchy. If you were to compare it to the crap you get at jo anns it would be like a Geo to Bugatti. It will set you back 100 dollars a yard from gulf fabrics but its worth it. I have done many interiors with all kinds of suede including my own, and mine with alcantera still looks like it did two years ago when I installed it. And as far as the the 3m glue is concerned, It will let loosen up in heat and your headliner will eventually sag. The glue you need you cannot buy anywhere but an upholstery shop. 3m will work for a lil while but it wont last.

maybe I can upgrade my Geo headliner to a high class "alcantera" (alcantara) one of these days. A little bit of stretchiness would have been nice, but not worth $200 vs the $20 I spent in my case. As far as the glue holding, we shall see.

What would you recommend for glue then? I'm doing my headliner here soon.

It doesnt fade either, keep an eye on the front of you headliner it will eventually start to turn green. But then again you can just spend the 20 again to recover it so to each there own.

A was searching around and found this site.

http://www.wlsheadliners.com/

I'm going to give the glue they sell here a shot. Worst case scenario is I have to redo my headliner. I'll report back with my findings.

I did mine before I read this tread and it actually came out pretty good until 2 days later when the car in the sun for the hole day at work and I get in the car next thing you know the suede is touching my head Jajajajaja! I got the really nice suede (Carolina Herrera) I think from Joann fabric store and got lucky cause it was 45% off plus an extra 10% from a friend that works there ($24.99)p/y original price I bought 4 yards and just paid $55 with lunch for her included. It's Driving me nuts so I went and bought 90 3m glue instead of the 70 I used before and will redo with pics.

My Super77 sagged a little after the first hot day, 3 hot Atlanta months and my Super90 has held up great.

Anyone have a bit of stretchy suede left over?

Preferably this type: http://www.hancockfabrics.com/Solid-...VVviewprod.htm

I have looked all over here in AUS and there is no place where I can get this stretchy suede material to do this project....

The stuff I used to do my Audio layout trimming is not stretchy and a pain to work over complex contours.

If anyone has got some extra that they would like to sell for a reasonable price, let me know...I will cover the postage costs and stuff.

I would buy from hancock fabrics but they don't ship overseas.....

The stuff you linked is the suede I used - it is not stretchy. People have tried the stretchier suedes that Hancock sells and remarked how it doesn't look like real suede. I'm not sure if we've find a reliable source for realistic and stretchy suede short of authentic alcantara.

Man I forgot about this thread, Well recently I just wrapped my shift console area, reason I did this is that I had to cut a hole out for my new Hydro E-Brake and I missed up my old CF wrap there, so I was like F it and lets just re-wrap it in suede, came out good...
