2007 - Passenger Airbag light
This is a lil confusing to me.
Normally, when I drive by myself, there's NO light shown. But when I have a passenger, the Light is lit. At first, I thought it means the air bag is functional until my passenger pointed out to me that it says "OFF".
Is this how it's supposed to be or there's something wrong with the sensor?
Thanks a lot

huh? I'm not really following this.
Like I said, when there's NO passenger, there's NO light.
When there's passenger, the Light comes ON. But it says "OFF". So that's why I'm confused.

Yes, the air bag sensors were recalled for 2007's. You should've received a letter from Nissan about it. Mine does it occasionally with passenger or no passenger. I never went to the dealership to get it fixed yet.

When the light is off, so is the airbag. Crash with just you in the car, only your airbag goes off. When someone 90lbs (approx) or less is sitting there, the light should come on and say "off" as the car knows someone is in the seat, but still shouldn't deploy the airbag as they are most likely too small to have the bag be helpful. When the light is on and the "off" is not lit, someone is in the seat and is heavy enough for the car to deploy the passenger airbag. This is the only situation that the passenger airbag will deploy.

Usually, that's the only thing being lit.
