i don't know if this is typical but my 05 is full of wind noise down the road. When i listen to music, i have to turn up the volume to about 10 to hear what the song is.
Also i hear wind comming in near the A pillar window. It's only the wind coming in sound i don't think the wind actually comes in so that i can feel it. The sound is like P shuuuuuuuuuu shuuuuuuuuuuu. lol
When i volunteered at a mechanic shop, the mechanic said the wind noise can be disappeared and the inside of the car would be ReALLY quiet if i install insulator around the weather strip(?). The rubber thing that goes from the rear of the window to the A Pillar side of the window.
If this is true, where can i get it?

 

It may help for you to know . . . .

In 2004 I put Vertical Door hinges on my Z. I noticed wind noise at about 125mph. . . .because the door was not sealing correctly.

Because of that issue, and failing struts, I took the Vertical Door hinges off of my Z and re-installed the stock hinges. NO MORE WIND NOISE.

You problem might be due to the door(s) not being adjusted properly. You might consider visiting a good body shop and asking them if it might be due to the door hinges needing adjustment. Sometimes they need to adjust the fenders too (to match the door gap). I realize this might all be expensive.

Does water get into your car during a hard rain or car wash?

 

I wouldn't be mind having wind noise over 125 mph..lol..but at around 50mph? i don't want wind noise. I haven't seen rain so i don't know if water will get in..and i hand wash.
I did notice that the door hinge was loose when i first got the car. i tightened it but it seems like it does perfectly sit in where it originally sat. I know its off the original spot because i can see the old hinge mark. i doubt this could be the problem because from outside, every parts line perfectly

 

The hinge was loose when you got the car and you can see the old hinge mark.........IMO: those seem like warning signs.

 

so thats what wind sounds like lol

Anyway, i would say change the insulator and weatherstripping and check for water leakage as stated above. If you can hear that much wind from that area then there's a good chance water will seep in during bad weather.

 

What are pretty good weather strips? im guessing fat strips are better than the stock..

 

I have same problem from 80mph? and little water during car wash but not rain though.
i thought its normal.. any solution?

I'm guessing the window motor failure bs is affecting the window sealing. you know how when you open the door the window goes down a quarter inch and when you shut the door it seals again, but because of the window motor failure TSB this is the first function to fail?

idk about dgk but mine seals and still hear the noise. But i just try to ignore
