Asuka/Mastergrade Hatch owners... assemble!
I'm looking at getting rid of my Nismo V3 set up in favor to a Asuka/Mastergrade. I've searched for info on the fit, not so much on the finish b/c its going to be painted. I've heard/read horrific experiences but I'd rather hear it from you guys. How would you rate on a scale from 1-10 the fit of either one of the hatches. Thanks

It is a PAIN. I love how it looks on my Z, but fitment is terrible. I tried everything I can. I don't think it is a diy job. My last resort is to take it to a body shop, I think that is the first thing people should do if they get the hatch, its a rough job.

flo-rida... i've been looking for same - to paint to match for a while.
let's flip the script and go with the strosek hatch... vis has a replica of that too!
the mg/ask hatch is notorious for crap fit and is a ***** to find. i've never
seen one in person that "impressed" me. a good one is def worth a stack.

Thanks guys, boomer...your wheels = WIN btw lol....Sorry to hear about the guys who had bad fitment...mine isnt perfect but I did hear better things about seibon. If you do decide to go with the asuka/mastergrade one problem people usually have is that the where the hatch meets the a pillars the hatch looks slightly raised. Instead of adjusting the hatch and not having it line up at the bottom now you can remove the a pillars and add some small washers to slightly raise that instead.

The fitment of mine gave me hell man! Looks good, but not worth the headache...
Edit: I also had to reclear the hatch, the damn thing looked like a piece of dry-carbon!

You have to take it to a body shop that can drill out the hinges and align the hatch. If you do this, you can not revert back to stock without repeating this process. I would estimate the cost $300-$400 dollars. 3hrs of labor + parts and paint (if needed).
Flip the hinges. Gets rid of the gap 120%. In fact, I needed to use spacers or else it would be TOO tight. The only other problem I have that I couldn't fix with mine was the difference in height between the hatch and the roof.
