I am selling my 2007 bi-xenon headlights. My question is not like all the other countless threads I keep finding.

I want to know what is needed to make 03-05 headlights work using my 2007 harness that is in my HR.

I know there are two types of 03-05 headlights.
a) HID 03-05 heads
b) regular halogen 03-05 heads

Is there any trick to get either of those to work w/ a newer model harness or is it straight up plug and play?
I don't care if the DTR lights don't work. I just need the head lights and the turn signals to work.

 

As long as they are wired up correctly they will work. You will need to repin them though. Follow the instructions below, but remember you are looking at the diagrams backwards because it is showing the in car harness pin configuration.

Also you will need the plug off a set of 06+ lights to put on the 03 lights to plug to the in car harness.

now is this only for NON HID 03-05 lights?

wouldnt HID 03-05 lights be plug and play? like it is when your upgrading... it will be the same visa versa right

 

Yes you are correct. If the 03 style are HID, then it will be plug and play. But if the op just buys a basic set, you will have to convert.

I see you are selling your lights, but why would you do that, especially on a later model Z that they came OEM?
