Default Are these the real Philips Ultinons?

I've been reading that the real Philips Ultinons are supposed to have the red salt mark in the capsule itself, but these don't. Although the packaging and the markings on the base of the bulb make them look darn real. Any input would be of much help, Thank you.

Do the genuine ones have Chinese text on the box?

I'm just guessing here, but that might not be good. In Japan the headlight beam pattern is opposite from the US and Europe. So, maybe those bulbs are optimized for those lenses, and wouldn't work in your car? Perhaps you can go to the Philips site and find a phone for customer service and ask.

ahh. I bought the exact ones from him about 2 weeks ago, but I haven't installed them yet.
I'd be damned if these are fake.

Hey, perfect now you can post pictures when you have installed them but truly, i did a lot of search on these and everywhere i found that it must have the red salt in it to be real. :\

Here's a site showing the same bulbs, and they say "FOR OFF ROAD USE ONLY IN USA AND EUROPE". They also say the red mark is visible in the capsule.

I just cancelled my order for these bulbs. I kind of knew $100 for a pair of these Ultinons was too good to be true.. oh well!

I am looking forward to read your review of these bulbs once you install them.

HMm they look fine to me. 6000K is a bit too bluish for me though. I'd go ask over at www.hidplanet.com or check out www.theretrofitsource.com as they have some quality HID stuff.

Ok, so I installed them yesterday, and the bulbs were definitely not 6000K. They were more like 4300K. I currently have 6000k bulbs, but wanted to upgrade to Philips for better quality. So I can definitely tell that these Philips Ultinons aren't 6000K.

I contacted the seller and questioned about the authenticity of the bulbs for not having the "red" salt. He said that some models have "red" salt and some don't. But he said the part # of the bulbs match with part # of the 6000K bulbs. He also said that I can return them and get full refund, which I will return them.

I am glad i didn't buy these then! i read some great stuff about the Morimoto bulbs from the retrosource.com. i am gonna give them a shot, $45 isn't all that bad for trying them out.

These are starting to show up on Craigslist now, so that might indicate a big influx of counterfeit bulbs.
