Default Track / Racing Pedal Installation?

Has anyone installed these type of racing pedals in their Z? I'm trying to get some better spacing for improved heal - toe. If someone has installed these on a 2003 manual 350Z can you post pictures and let me know how the installation went. What did you have to remove, add, or do to make install these? I'd like to see some 350Z specific instructions and insure that the manner that they mount is super secure.

Thanks for the help.

The previous owner of my Z installed Sparco pedals by drilling new holes through the OEM ones and securing them with the supplied hardware. They aren't coming off.

When they drilled through them and installed over the factory pedals did the height stay the same? I love the relative height of the gas and brake pedals and would not want that to change.

I'm installing these to get the wider pedals to improve heal - toe. The factory pedals, look similar but they are not as wide and for me pretty tough to heal - toe on.

Have you looked into the 380rs pedal instead? I have one myself and it definitely makes heel-toe a lot easier. Installation is really easy also.

Thanks for the pictures and the link. I had not seen that pedal design before. It looks like it's designed specifically for the 350Z. Did you order from Z-1 Performance or someone else?

Thanks again...

I have the exact (I think) pedals in my Z. I got them from Autovation Technologies about the end of 2003. They mount by drilling holes through the pedals and utilizing screws to hold them in place. Once installed, they will not go anywhere. Here is a picture of mine installed..................

^i've had the autovation pedals on my car now for about 80,000 miles. nice placement and easy to heel n toe, especially for those with big feet. however, the rubber bits on the clutch pedal wore off very quickly for some reason.

KornerCarver...so those went over the existing pedals and add about 1/4" to all pedal heights for the thickness of the new pedals? Can you take a side shot of the throttle pedal and the brake pedal? I'd like to get a view of the "sandwich" if it's easy for you to do.

These look a little wider than the 380rs pedals. My Simpson racing shoes are pretty narrow and heal-toe is toe. So I think getting the throttle and brake closer and ideally keeping them at the same height is what I want to do. The pedals are pretty pricey so I want to insure it works before shelling out the money.

Thanks again!

You remove the existing pedal cover so they are really no thicker than the stock pedals. Getting a picture from the side is pretty difficult but there really is no "sandwich". I have a base model so I had rubber pedal covers but I don't think the metal covers are any more difficult to remove. They are really just rubber with a metal cover fitting to the pedals. The throttle might be a little more difficult. I just drilled holes in the existing throttle and screwed on the new metal cover.

Just talked to Scott at Fontana Nissan, none available right now. He is going to get a few sets on the way from Japan. May be a little while.
