LED Strip Light Installation
Hey Guys,
I recently purchased a pair of Audi style LED strip lights for my z. I want them to come on when on turn on the yellow fog/daytime lights but I am unsure about where to connect the wires to. Does anyone know how to properly connect the strip lights?

Wire is red with blue stripe in the driver floorboard, but I think that the switch provides negative instead of positive, so it complicates your wiring of the strips since you can't just ground them near the location and run a positive to tap into the switch.
I just did something similar this past weekend on my car and I decided to make my parking lights and the LED strips be daytime running lights instead. You can find my post in the 350Z Tech -> Exterior section titled "Come rag on my attempt at DRLs". In the end, I was happier with this than using the fog light switch.

Did you ever resolve this? I bought a pair as well but cannot figure it out. Thanks

I'm not sure. I have the exterior LED lights that stick on the exterior of the headlights. Do I need to go through all that? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Sounds horrible, and there are going to be exposed wires somewhere if you install something like that. What else were you planning - drilling a hole in the headlight lens? If you're going to install some led strips, the obvious place is in the lower front reflectors, like on the newer 370Z's, or what many of us have done on our 350Z's. Sticking something to the outside of the headlights will look like @ss.

But I'd be more than happy with LED running lights like yours although I have an 04' 350. Aren't they now selling the fully assembled running lights for 350's or no? My bad if I'm acting like a newb but I am new to this 350 DIY. I finally paid mine off & now ready to do some really pimped out stuff to it.

You may be able to install LED strips along the lower edges of the headlights, but you'd have to open up the housings. Several good threads about headlight projects to look at.
The problem with the early type side reflectors is that the profile is different from the later ones. In the '06> reflectors the LEDs can be mounted to face forward, but in the '03-'05 the LEDs will face to the side. It makes for a very different look.
