OP, I've had mine on for about 8 months or so and despite having a few rock chips, it holds on pretty well.

Here you go. I know what your thinking I did my by bumper. No that is painted. However, it's good to use for your emblems due to fact if you dont like it later you can take it off.

The only thing i used plastidip for was my rear strut cover and left the Z silver, I think it looks better than with it all silver.

I on the other hand use Turtle Wax Trim Restorer. When used according to the instructions it works and lasts for a long time.

I don't think we need a new thread everytime someone uses PD , just keep the projects and questions within this thread and there is less backlash from the forum as a result

I've used plastidip quite a bit, and as long as you paint/clear over it, it looks great.

Left just as plasti dip, it looks terrible, because everyone can recognize it right away.
Be forewarned, painting over plastidip/clear coating it makes it incredibly difficult to remove and is not suggested unless you'd like to lose a week of your life to change the color of your wheels/accents.

Those are plastidipped then painted, and they look perfectly gloss, as if powdercoated and cleared. It also peels off to the original silver.

Here's a crappy picture of them in green just to give you the idea.

Did my grill today. Taking the tape off is pretty tricky - may do one more coat to get an even edge

A friends WRX; he got all into plasti-dipping his car and kept telling me to do mine. Didnt seem to care after I told him the potential problems. First two times he didn't have a problem then he does a watermelon sherbert color. He decides to peel it off and finds out that reds will leave a red tint on the clear. Now he has to wash it with goof off until it goes away at least that's what he was told.

So you might want to be cautious when doing a red shade of a color on a silver/white car

Anything "blaze" as they call it is super tricky to use, at least that's what I've heard from all the dipyourcar guys here in fl. It fades and it stains.

That's why they recommend putting a coat of white on before you put another coat of anything that isn't black on your car. Read the cans, folks!

Default The Plastidip thread

I tried to search for an official Plastidip thread but to no avail.
So I may as well start one! My freshly dipped 2003 350Z:
