Default Custom Alum Wing Stanchions...who can make them?

Yo..

Curious..

Since I doubt Ill ever sack up and buy the Esprit carbon blade wing and wait 12 weeks for it, i though I may try the strosek inthe time being.
I always kinda liked it anyways. Not a HUGE fan of the double decker look, but my cars all over the place anyways.

SO.. heres my question... its got pretty simple mouting stanchions as is... but Id love to sit it up in the clean air a bit higher.. and I just saw a pic of someone ( at strosek actually at the Nurburgring), but they are one offs and Im curious who could i contact to machine some new ones for me?
I believe its just aluminum.

Zero clue where to even start looking, so im starting here.

The pic shows thier orig brackets bolted to entension brackets.. i think one piece will look far better..

Any ideas? Anyone got a good CAD CAM buddy who does this stuff on the side?
Is there a vendor here that can tackle it?

thanks for any direction..

Im not 100 percent im going to go with this wing.. i may still suck it up and buy the Esprit, but Id like to know what fully would be entailed if i did go strosek ..

any machine shop with a mill or waterjet can cut you wing stands. the swept angles would be slightly harder to hand cut but its a wing pedistal... so it doesnt need to look (that) fancy...

you dont need a CNC machine with CAD for something low-tech as this unless you want like rolled edges and your tolerence has to be in the 0.001"

i had my Voltex wing stands duplicated locally at a machine shop in Aluminum and i was going to get it anodized black but right now they're just polished... fairly easy thing for a good machinst to make..

That wing really just looks like a Nismo V1 wing with a custom mounting base. Kinda cool

yeah its a little bigger and doesnt sweep forward like a reverse boomerrang like th OEM one does.....

But this looks simple enuff... and i think w a gurney flap, it should look pretty tough.. dunno man.. i can friggin decide on a wing. This sucks!

Im twisted between the APR gt300, Wald, Strosek or Esprit.

Terrasmak, i know you like MUCH more simple cars..and i dont blame ya.. haha.. but given my cars already pretty crazy.. whats ur opinion if you had to chose of of the above wings?

Getting a wing that much higher is fraught with problems. Are you increasing drag, with negligable downforce gains? Will the new mount (particularly a single attachment point) be able to withstand the increased forces and not fly off at higher speeds?

i kind of agree.

I had the Amuse CL wng w gurney flap on it before and it had 6 bolts per stanchion thru my trunk.. and it hit the wind HARD. That was back when i could still make it thru the drive thru touchles car washes, and when that fan hit the wing, it was LOUD, and moved the whole car. Ha ha.. thats my wind tunnel testing btw jk.

For such a small wing, it was amazingly effective. But at that time, i didnt even really need it.. my bushings were all shot, i had oem shocks still, the normal toe issues etc.. high speed driving was scary already.

But now that its all tightened up, I want a serious wing that really adds some higher speed stability.
And a wing narrower than the fenders will accentuate them even more i think.

I really want a GT3 look. And thats the Esprit.
Im just trying REEEEEEALY hard to find an alternative becuase its unreal expensive , which i can stomach ( write the check and jsut try not to think about it).. but then theres a 12 week wait..thats the downside.

I may just be stuck w this Strosek.

Well its different, its unique , and my personal opinion. Function, i would buy the APR, Fulcrum, aeromotive, Kognition. Just for a street car, i would stay Nismo V1 , Stillen lip, basically something smaller. Biggest for a street car woud be the Nismo V3. Then i can't stand the looks of the Nismo V2, Veilside, and a few of the others like them, they remind me of the crazy super combat wings of the 90's.

haha, totally..COMBAT kits.. soooo terrible... and thats EXACTLY what im trying to avoid.

Kognition is sick, looks like its just for the 370 tho.

I love the look of the APR wing itself, but the pedestals look terrible.
And the guy w the yellow and blue ( gulp.. i threw up a lil) VS wide kit sports one.. it looks horrendous IMO of course. Goes great w his non drop and chrome wheels. im sure he loves it tho.

Again you get what you pay for always.. and it seems the only wings that look tuff as nails are all pricey as sh#t ...Even the Ings low mount would be dope, but were back up to OVER 2 grand then.

I dont race. Youre right about that fer sure.

Dunno.. thanks fer the input tho everyone. Food for thought. I gotta pull the trigger soon so i can get er done before its 118 degrees here. Never fun to work on cars in heat like that.

nah, polish job aint bad at all... better than i could pull off for sure.

I think i solved my problem... C West GT wing.. stanchions are farther out and IMO a bit better looking than the Strosek or APR i was looking at.. and now my only issue appears to be finding one to buy.. Im starting to hate Japan.

We need to invent shipping teleporters dude... stat. This is literally the WORST part of buying JDM or authentic parts.. the price can be stomached, but then wait always sucks.

Are you talking bout the C-west GT Wing II specifically for the Z? bc I really like that as well. Wondering who you were planning on going through to get a hold of one?
