Nissan body shop...fail. *pictures
Bought my '06 in July this year.
I go to college and I always park my car in the parking garage on campus...unfortunately for me, someone decided to run her over. Luckily, she left a note because i wasnt there when it happened. The other person's insurance was involved and was responsible for repairs.
Pictures below. Can someone give me advice on what all I can do so the shop can fix these issues? I find this to be very unsatisfying. The body shop manager brushed everything off when I pointed this stuff out.
Here's some pics of everything:
Day I bought it:
I wash it every week:
Damages: Moved my car about 3-4 feet. The person had a suv and pretty much ran completely over it. D:
The hood was shifted too.
Damages when it happened:
Left Side:
Right Side:
After body shop worked on it:
Left Side:
Right Side:
I originally had a -2005 front bumper. Brought to a Nissan body shop thinking they should know the differences or at least research first. Needless to say, they ordered an '06 front bumper.
Here's the fitment of everything:
The paint clearly doesn't match in the sun; however, the white was already custom and not the PPW. Car was originally silver. The hood fitment is way off. I basically have to jump on my hood to close it. I don't have the paint code for the custom white.

The manager wanted to charge me for those trim pieces. I do have the piece that covers the tow hook though.

So this was insurance work and the body shop:
1) got you the correct 06+ bumper
2) painted it the correct OEM color
What did you expect? Granted they should fix your bumper fitment since it's likely your radiator support wasn't aligned properly after the accident. If you have an aftermarket paint job they are going to have to blend the hood, fenders and bumper which will leave the back half of your car looking as off as your bumper/hood do now. Expect to get a full paint job if you want it perfect because, as far as your insurance company is concerned, they have fixed the damage.

Call your insurance, tell them your not satisfied and the shop can either
1. Fix it (right this time)
2. or take it to another shop to get fixed
It's BS that they're trying to sell you the grill part, that's part of the bumper and should be included...

Yes, the insurance company was involved. The paint on the entire car is NOT oem ppw. Yes, more than likely they did just paint the front bumper oem ppw. I can live with that. The problem is the fitment. They had to order a new radiator assembly support, both stays, absorber, stiffeners, and support. They should have to re-do that so everything properly fits.
My point is that everything was fine prior to the accident. No fitment issues at all, Now, everything pretty much doesn't line up. The hood specifically is definitely not aligned. That being said, I think they should have to fix this. I just wanted to know what obstacles or loopholes these people with throw at me.
I've called the insurance company but the lady we are dealing with seems to be a bit busy. Just have to wait for her call back

I hit a deer and my new 05 OEM replacement bumper doesn't fit right either and I had no structural damage just cosmetic.
It's hit or miss.... but I'd say your supports are shifted to far right from how it looks in your pic's. Good luck!
Oh and matching white paint is a b*tch

I can live with the white. Flush fit on body lines are number one for me.

I couldn't believe it either. I have a feeling they won't do anything when I go back there. It's ridiculous. I mean, if this was their car, they wouldn't want it like that.
