i am going to remove my seats to install some corbeau CR1's tomorrow and was wondering if the air bag light/ air bag will go off if i leave the airbag connector unplugged.i have searched and found a write up already, but it does not cater to MY 350z because, i have a 2005 BASE package. an answer to my question will be greatly appreciated.
The same issue comes up when people install aftermarket steering wheels with no air bag, leaving the connector unplugged. Some steering wheels come with resistors that'll plug into the unused plugs to keep the airbag light from coming on. You should be able to do the same thing for the aftermarket seats.
You will see a little tag on the top of your seat that says AIRBAG if you do in fact have the airbags installed in your car.
If so you will need to checkout this thread:

nope, i do not have the little tag on my seat. what im more worried about is after i install everything, and leave the air bag connector unconnected, will the airbags deploy? What im planing to do is, if i cannot get the airbag light to go off im going to bring it to my buddy's shop and i just dont want the air bags to deploy on the way down or something.

what alignment peg are you speaking of? is this on the base of the CR1s? the CR1s are bottom mount, is that correct? (versus side mount seats)
i think they get their seat brackets from wedge engineering as well-- as long as you can get four bolts into the seat through the seat bracket, you can probably slice off that alignment peg.
post pictures of what you're talking about if you want some more detailed help
