Default Speedometer MPH to KPH conversion

What options are available if I want to convert either the analog or digital speedometer from MPH to KPH? I'm in Canada and got a 2007 USDM.

Lets pretend that doing the conversion in my head is not an option...

It's been done - there ARE a couple of threads on the subject. IIRC, you have to swap the gauge clusters.

The speed readout in the trip computer can be set to mph or kph, and it's in a very convenient location. The first thing I did when I got my Z was make a Fresnel lens magnifier for the trip computer. Now, I rarely look at the regular speedometer.

Did this change in the 07'+ models? Because I can't do that on my 2006.

I also live in Canada with a USDM car and I would LOVE to be able to switch it to km/h.

From all the topics I have read on this forum, the ONLY way to do it is swap out the whole cluster. But good luck finding a used one, I have been looking forever. Never went to dealer but I wouldn't even want to know the price.

Where? Unless that's some new feature added on the your 2008 model, none of the other model years have the ability to switch between MPH and KPH. It's a function of the triple-meter unit.

New triple meter runs around $210.

I was assuming by trip computer that winchman was referring the the left-most gauge in the triple-meter unit. And as far as I know you still can't switch between km/h and mph in that.

And I can't justify $210 when I can just read the smaller numbers on the main cluster to get the same information. But thanks for the info!

Check out these two threads on the subject...

https://my350z.com/forum/exterior-an...h-to-km-h.html
https://my350z.com/forum/exterior-an...uges-help.html

You might be able to glean a little info from them. Personally, if you really, really wanted to have digital KPH, that's a small price to pay for the convienence.

My owner's manual says the speed is displayed in MPH or km/h. I thought that meant it could be switched. I tried it for the first time this morning, but could find no way to switch it to km/h.

You do realize that the speedo shows both MPH & KPH..?

If you really want to get it done, any Nissan Dealer can convert it for you.

hey there I might offer good help for you. I'm in the middle east right now to visit family.
I can look for a gauges cluster in junk yards, but it might take a while to find one.
good news is "lots of a$$H***s drive z's like crazy=lots of spare parts"
and they come in KPH+left hand drive if it affects anyway.
so, just pm if you really want to get one.
