So I work at a machine shop and when I have down time I mess around and attempt to make parts for my Z. So far I made a heat shield for my intake, a nitrous gauge pod for the cubby (and it still is able to close) and a shift ****. Let me know what you think, future parts will be some wheels spacers and if anyone knows dimensions of a fuel tap I would appreciate it or detailed pictures with a scale hahaha

I did it on a manual lathe, was easier since I had to kinda guess at the right clearance I needed since I was using non-oem o-rings. Once I got a package of oem size o-rings for the final design, I just adjusted the bore sizing. Simple, internal bore the same size as the rail section of the car, and duplicate the o-ring groove and diameter of the hard line portion. Make it tall enough to fit whatever size tap you are looking to put (I used 1/8 npt) and it looks very oem.
It's a 12mm o-ring btw. Can buy a pack off mcmaster-carr for cheap as ****. Dealer charges way too much.

For what, the Z? That doesn't make sense. The work needed for custom parts like that is pointless on a car with factory brembos and a lot of aftermarket BBK options.
I've made adapters to run Evo Brembos on a 90's tacoma, but unless on an application with no support there is no reason.
Also could use a set of solid motor mounts designed better than Wats currently on the market....
I would tackle this if someone wanted to donate a set of mounts for me to take measurements off of. I could prototype a set and setup for cnc reproduction as long as there are a couple people willing to buy.

I destroyed a set of injected performance solid mounts due to some wicked lateral movement during a spin out.. The IP's work well but I'd like something a little beefier if possible... Made out of 1 piece of milled steel a instead of having welding points....
I'm about to pull my motor, wen I do I can get back to either one of u guys with the measurements of Wat I want done....
Awesome. I have access to some machines at work as well. Never used them but wouldn't mind to learn. Cool stuff for sure though. Just be careful if you make parts for people. Don't want to be held reliable in anyway if a part happens to fail. As well as getting in trouble on the forum for advertising with out a vendor sponsorship. Keep up the good work. And you are 100% correct on the BBK brackets.

Yea I can look around n see if I still got the old ones somewhere...
Basically the aftermarket solid mounts are either a welded tube with a flat top n bottom n a bolt welded in each end... They are approx 1 7/8 round at the base n top...
I think they can be made bigger with more surface area... Mine broke at the welds both at a bolt n on the top plate of the other...
Solid mounts made from a single piece of billet have about the same surface area n have a single bolt thru the middle...
Again I am looking for something with more surface area and really strong bolts/ fasteners....
