Hotchkis hood pins - anyone use them?

I'm really liking the way the Hotchkis hood pins look, but I haven't really found any reviews from folks that have used them in the past online. I just wanted to:
1) See if anyone on here has used them or seen them on someone else's car
2) Find out folks' opinions on the look of these hood pins versus the "usual suspects"

those look nice! Cost a lot though.
check out these...a bit smoother.

I saw those, Chris, but they are a little too… well, I dunno… They remind me of bathroom fixtures. Where the Hotchkis look more beefy/mean to me for some reason.
And yeah, they aren't cheap - but the hood pins are fairly uncommon on our cars, so I'm thinking that it's definitely going to be a piece of the car that catches the eye. I like the chrome like you have, but I think it will be such a contrast on my car since there is no chrome anywhere else. I'm thinking this look would actually be more subtle with my car's color and look, but also be pretty sweet when you get up close to them.
I dunno… I'm not totally sold on them yet - partly because of the price, and partly because they are pretty big compared to the other options out there.

Yeah, that's what I'm struggling with. I'd love some feedback from someone that's used them, because if they said, "Well, blah blah blah was a pain" - it would make my decision easy.
I don't like the flush mount aerocatch type. So it's really down to the Hotchkis or the standard/classic hood pins for me.

They are Light Weight, don't stick out like the hotchkis ones, and the pins are self enclosed in the sliders, not needing any other extra cables or attachments.
you have the option of riveting the base plate to the top of the hood.
the Hotchkis ones are nice due to the quick-release pins/spring-ball, but if you want something like that in a tradtional hood pin look, you can easily make your own hood pins.
just need a base plate for the hood, the rod (called Flattened-End Hanger Bolts) that goes through the radiator support frame, and the quick release;

Even though they are functional, I don't like the way those sparcos look and I question how well they would mount considering that portion of the hood is curved.
If I don't do the Hotchkis, I will probably do the traditional hood pins like these:

I may consider a different style pin w/ quick release.
I also may have them powder coated gunmetal or black so they aren't so "hey look at me, I have hood pins" as the standard chrome look. That statement probably sounds contrary to the rest of my car, but I have things that I want to emphasize and other things that I'd like to keep subtle.

i've had them on two sets of CF hoods i've had. oem cf hood and the asuka type 2. you can position them pretty much any direction, up/down or sideways... the only think you have to deal with is the arc of the hood, you may have to elongate the pin opening to accommodate for the hood swing.. but that is with any hood pin system.
