Default 05 350Z door issue

Hi
I have a 05 350Z and everything was working great until yesterday. I am not sure if I am missing something simple or need to start ripping things apart.
The problem: I can lock and unlock all door and hatch with eye fob except the drivers door. The drivers door will not open with the fob or by the key alone. I have to put the key in and hold it to the left for the windows to go down and pull the door latch from the inside.
Am I missing something simple or will I have to tear things apart?
Thanks---I love this forum!!

Can the driver's door open from the outside at all?

You'll most likely need a new handle.

I had a similar problem with my old toyota corolla and it ended up being small plastic piece that attached the outside door handle to a metal push rod which pulled some spring activated latch... end of story I had to remove the interior door panel and replace that small piece of plastic. Haven't seen the inside of a Nissan 350z door yet, but will be keeping an eye on this thread in case you get some input with more value. Best of luck to you.

My input didn't have enough value? You can buy a new handle assembly for $65. It's not worth your time, money, or effort to fix it. Just replace and get on with your life.

Just had the same problem on my 2005. The door handle internals are plastic and just crumbled on me. I got a new handle and problem solved. FYI, you shouldn't have to remove the door panel like I did to replace the handle ;-)

You know you can roll down the windows with the keyfob? Something to make things a bit easier til you can get it fixed. =)
