Racing Seats Recommendation?
Hi everyome,
I've decided to replace my leather seats with racing seats that are comfortable enough. I daily drive my Z and never take it to the track. I'm looking for seats that are comfortable and maybe reclineable. I'm looking to spemd no more tham 400 per seat. Any recommendations?
Also, does replacing the stock seats (with side airbags) affect insurance?

You need something approved for racing basically. Yes, you can run replica brides or eBay seats, but they fold in half in any sort of accident (as do most reckon able aftermarket seats). Your best bet is a fixes bad sparco or recaro, you just have to be able to run your stock seat belt.
Before you run any new seats, check out crash test videos on YouTube before you buy. Even $2,000 bride reckon able seats fold in half or break backwards when in an accident, just as the fake brides you can buy for $400 each.
As for insurance I would assume it would if you were getting a new quote.

Thank you for the replies so far. I want to replace my oem seats because the driver's side is torn.
I don't mind spending more money if it means better safety. Are all racing seats worse in safety compared to our oem seats?

I recovered my cloth seats in my '06 with leather. I got the fitted leather covers from Leatherseats.com. I also installed corbeau seat heaters. Great for those cooler days when you are out driving the twisties with your buddies or club. I also ended up replacing both cushions on the drivers seat (not cheap for OEM cushions though). I did this last year early in the year and the seats still look great. IMO fix up your stock seats, not only will if fit right with the car but it'll look trick too. Do not fear the re-upholstering process. There are plenty of good youtube vids to check out.

I'm running Sparco R100 seats and love them. Well priced, easy to install, and very comfortable for daily driving.
I think i paid around #300 a seat from Import Parts Pro.
