Which has ANY iPhone app and more on it then I can go for that. Along with getting constant internet access with something like a mifi hotspot? Hell yes! I wonder if we get to browse the net on these lol. Correct me if I'm wrong but it is true we can install ANY android app out there right?
Yes you can download and install any Android application to Brainiac. Brainiac has various ways to connect to the internet... wifi, USB cellular modem or paired with your smartphone.

Fantastic media and handsfree integration with iPhones are a must. We plan on providing even more than that with our iPhone companion app

On Tuesday we presented at the Ontario Good Roads Association conference on the topic of in-car driver engagement for self driving vehicles.

More info, and our downloadable presentation, can be found on our blog:

I see the 06-08+ has climbed a bit in the poll recently. How high would it need to be for you to reconcider?

*Still dreaming*

It's still a consideration, it really comes down to the prioritization of which vehicles to do next. There's a significant $$ spend on R&D and tooling to support a new vehicle so we need to ensure that we can recoup that cost in sales for the vehicle.

Yes of course. I'll wait patiently and bugger you about it until you decide the cost is worth it to get rid of me.

So been following and reading most of the blog posts and remember something being said about it before. But is Braniac compatible with Osiris and/or could it be used to integrate with haltech standalone? I'm playing around with Osiris now but eventually will be installing my Greddy TT built engine with Haltech stand alone to run it. Just curious how far this thing is gonna be able to be stretched? Also.....where is the pre-order link?

Brainiac is compatible with any ECU that provides OBDII PID support over a CanBus connection. From what we know Osiris maintains regular OBDII support. Haltech is a whole other beast. We haven't worked directly with Haltech to be able to speak to what support might look like.

We've also talked to Osiris to be able to possibly create a capability that would allow you to switch between different maps from Brainiac instead of using the cruise control sequences.

Was anything ever discussed or confirmed on compatibility with the existing Bose system?

Just as an FYI - the Bose HU connects to an amp in the trunk which powers the speakers.

Yes there was a discussion a while back about that. While our plastics are specific to the target vehicle (350Z/FRS/BRZ/WRX) the electronics are universal. So installation and configuration with existing systems such as the Bose extra amp will be the same as any other aftermarket stereo system.

We have Front/Rear/Sub pre-outs as well as a standard DIA stereo wiring harness. So we have the ability to work with separate amps for front/rear/sub or using factory speaker wiring.

We've been asked quite a bit about T-shirts and other swag, well now you can get your hands on some different Brainiac logo designs in lots of different swag options.

Check out our "Swag Store" for more details

Unfortunately Workshop 12 will not be able to secure funding to manufacture Brainiac units. At this point we will be cancelling all existing preoders for the product. To be clear there will be no charges against any orders and those who have preordered will be receiving email cancellation notices.

More information can be found here: https://workshoptwelve.com/2016/04/1...ange-of-plans/

This also means that we will unfortunately not be able to build out our dealer and distributor network as planned. You won't find anyone more disappointed than us about not being able to bring a packaged Brainiac solution to market. We want to thank everyone who supported us through this journey, your support has meant more to us than you'll ever know.

Sincerely,

Tim Neil and Rob Williams
Co-Founders of Workshop 12

Well, that sucks. You might still find some folks willing to pay for custom work though. Car enthusiasts have no concept of too much money if it's something that they want!
