Ok time for a little bit more , if there are too many pics , just let me know ......
Ok Falcata is a Spanish Sword from medieval times , was known as an extremely deadly weapon . My symbol for the car is two Falcata sword blades back to back .
So I designed the exhaust tip to be the signature and symbol , its 4 inches by 24 inches

Falcata Sword

concept drawing

the lines are to line up in the press for bending

used the plasma to cut out the holes then tig welded it together

router the edge and file

making the pipes oval ish

it was fun to make something out of metal again

I extended the rear bumper 3 inches to make room for the pipes to clear

it's all rubber mounted now pic's somewhere . What does that guy say on TV Bitchin !!!

Do you have some sort of rendering of what the end concept is going to look like?

That looks incredible, how about the front?

Some people don't care about going faster than 14 seconds in the quarter mile.
My favorite car was 0-60 in literally 20 seconds. Quarter mile in 20.6 @about 62mph 1.0L Geo metro convertible 5 Speed

Back to the front of the Car ...

building the front fenders , I want to retain the factory mounts from the top of the original headlight to the windscreen

here I am using 3/16 ths round bar and flat bar to set the outline

building wooden bucks to set the shape

the bucks are all interlocking to provide strength , not only the shape of the outside but the inside also needs to be as close as possible .

even with cardboard templates lots of trial and error swapping them to wood

here are the headlights framed with flashing to keep the foam out .

Amazing work. Are you doing all the fiberglass wet layup by hand?

Your talents are exceptional. If you can't get a position with an auto design position with a major player, than I can't believe who could.

Hi
The plug ( the Body of the car ) will be made up of wood and foam , some fiberglass , and once it's ready to take molds off , they will be gelcoat then several layers of fiberglass layed by hand , once the molds are ready the parts will be resin infused and vacuum bagged to insure quality parts .

Thanks for the kind words , but I think you need some kind of credentials to get into designing cars for the big boys , that's why I am designing and building my own car in a small shop in the forest on an Island .

Ok more on the front of the car .

I wanted the light to look as evil as possible , so here in this pic you can see the top of the light is blacked out , so I had to come up with a wat to cover that with the fender

so I masked off the blacked out area and started to make some pieces out of MDF to to fit the shape and contour

lots of sanding and shaping

lots of relief cuts in the back to let it curve

and of course you have to make lefts and rights

i did a mock up with Ram board to see if I liked it

laser alignment for the interlocking bucks

mock up

You're right, I guess.
I'm just impressed by those, as yourself, on this forum who have the knowledge and patience to do what you do. Nice work

On to more front fender stuff

I made a moat or a border around the headlights to keep the foam out

I used Aluminum flashing

you don't want to be digging around looking for the headlights in the foam

here on the top edge of the inner fender I used Ram board and covered it with foil tape and waxed it so the foam wouldn't stick to it .

Jeebus, talk about highly-detailed-quality-build. You don't see this type of work go into the 350z anymore. Not bashing, growing up in the 90's when swapping different make & model lights and extensive bodywork was all the rage, the vision usually falls short when all of the time went into the work and less so the design. Car design is all about lines and proportions, if the ratio is off, could end up a mish-mosh of a hot mess, get it right a beautiful unicorn of a machine on the streets.

How are you doing the foam? That't not like spray foam and then you are just cutting it is it?

^^^ Also very true during the fast and furious scene. You don't see much of this anymore. I was told by people 10 years younger than me that a car I fully customized 10 years ago was "ugly" but it was just what was done back then

Hi the foam I am using is a two part polyurethane , it's two bottles and a pair of hoses with a gun on the end , it's really meant for insulating homes etc.
It's called a Froth-Pak
It's easy to carve and sand , the polyurethane is fiberglass friendly

Hi back to Foaming the front fenders .

Foaming the passenger side

Foamer Simpson lol

Here you can see where the moat around the headlight with the flashing really helped to keep the foam from consuming the light .

it's very easy to shape and sand
