Thanks for the kind words , but I think you need some kind of credentials to get into designing cars for the big boys , that's why I am designing and building my own car in a small shop in the forest on an Island .
This is one helluva rolling resume. This is by far much higher quality work than I've seen out of many aftermarket body parts companies. This is clearly a labor of love.
I'm not a super custom kinda driver/owner myself but, to see the work that goes into building the Falcata, well, as I said, this is a labor of love and talent.
I mean c'mon, even that wooden base to hold up the rear decklid, heck, I have trouble building an incline ramp for my mother in law! And your piece has those cutouts to sit over the "bumps"! Who thinks of these things?
Back in the day (70s, 80s) the most "famous" custom street Z was this one, called the PrimaDonna Z...
Pretty radical stuff. But, I'm very glad to see that the custom work lives on and is exceeded!! The Kindig crew is probably the most "custom" of all the builders on TV. Wanna do a series on the build of Falcata MeanMosheen (or whatever the "race version" is called.) Haha.
Ya that's pretty radical for it's time for sure !!!!

Thanks for the boost , I want to do it right and I am still learning new stuff along the way , like I said before I am no expert at this , ( hopefully when I am finished lol ) just trying to do my best with what I have .
I am very happy that someone else is liking it !!!!
Thanks again
Some more on the tail light tray .
Making the pieces that go over the top of the lights .
I used my method of making the pattern with strips of thin wood and a glue gun ,
Have to make a pattern for above the light
this is gluing the sticks together
once your done you trace it out on some thin cardboard
cut that out and trace it onto your material
I am so looking forward to filling in the quarter panels !!

Reason: I put the wrong link in for the pattern making vid , will add it later
Small update , had a snow storm that knocked out the power and took down a bunch of trees at the shop , winter .....had a chance to try out my G35 X in the snow and man it's awesome !!! .
Time for an other update , still plugging away in the forest on the Falcata , we had a huge wind storm here on the Island last night , yes you guessed it power got knocked out again , seems like the only time I get to update is when the power gets knocked out at the shop in the forest . So I have been busy remaking all the pieces I had made in the blue foam with a few changes along the way . Here I taped a couple of strips of wood on the foam and ran it in the planer to make a taper , seemed to work out , these pieces are to make the big piece that goes across the back thicker and have a taper
More ..... So I remade the pieces for the batman humps that go on the roof in the new foam , the new foam is going well at the moment , its a little fragile as in density , so machining it takes extra care , but it can be filled or patched , so it should be good .
and along the way was working on the attachment points , originally I was going to use the factory hatch hinges to hold the rear clam shell down but found it really difficult to access the bolts with the top on . So if you are racing the clock with bonding compound to attach the roof this might prove to be a problem . So I came up with a new idea to bolt the rear down using the rear strut mounting location , now there will be a foe vent to hide the fasteners . I try to use the lasers and grids to insure things are staying symmetrical , this car has so much shape its like working on an egg all the time !!!
Also been working on the trunk lid outer , the louvers and how they will blend into the rear deck , now I can have the foam at any thickness I have made the rear deck thicker this affects the trunk , so I have been working on the rise and run of the louvers , before continuing on , I want to make sure the angle and height are looking right .
I am so looking forward to filling the quarters in with foam !!!!
Amazing work. I'm assuming the hatch is going to be non-functional after this without physically unbolting it?
Hi
Thanks for the kind words , the huge factory hatch will be deleted ,there will be no rear window , there will be a rear view camera that displays in the mirror .
There is going to be a smaller fully functional trunk with the factory release mechanism .
its the shape that is the brown part that kid of looks like a guitar and then comes straight out the back .
Thanks for your interest in the project .
So in case there is any confusion with this , there are two parts here the lower one is like the hatch replacement , which seals the back of the car and the top part , which will be the outer cover ( body ). These two parts will be bonded together before they go on the car. Then the combined part will be bonded to the roof and bolted here where you see bolts , then a small flat piece will be bonded over to hide the bolts . This will be the pattern to cut the foam to make the upper edge in the router table cutting the foam in the router table these get hot glued on and then the inside gets filled with foam and shaped
Hi guys & gals Been a while , must be getting old almost forgot how to post stuff on here lol . I have missed some time from the car ( obliviously ) you know the usual stuff in the forest on an Island , power outages from wind storms and freak snow storms , life etc . So I have been plugging away at the rear deck lid fake vents and prepping the roof scoop mounting . the roof will have a small foam frame that will be part of the roof to position and fasten the scoop .
So the hatch area is going to be sealed permanently with no way to access it from the outside?
Hi the giant hatch is no longer , but there is still going to be a trunk it's opening is the brown guitar shape in the recessed area on the rear deck .
Here you see the inside and the new opening , it will change slightly , the flange hanging down will be trimmed after this piece is bonded to the outside piece . and covered in black cloth or leather
this is the out side of the part that you see inside , which will be bonded to the roof, rear deck and quarter panels will be one large part .
I hope that explains it , thanks for your interest , I know it can get confusing .
Cheers
Hi I finally got my turn signals , they are really cool , they have low beam ( DLR ) day time lights , high beam DLR and Amber sequential signals , I ordered a few sets and the shipping company lost them !!!!
Had to order again .......
So I will be working on there spot in the front Dam , this should be a right pain to make also ... but worth the effort .
They are aftermarket up grade for the new Honda Civic Type R
They go in and only the raised part shows through the holes .
