06-08 Headlight Conversion from 03-05 - Replace Turn Signal Bulb with 3156
I'm having some body work done on a 2004 350z (enthusiast) with HID headlights and while the shop is at it I want to give them a set of 06-08 headlights to swap them out for. I want this to just be plug and play for them, no issues. They'll be OEM assemblies with the bulbs, ballast, etc. already installed.
AFAIK this is as simple as swapping the housings and plugging in the connectors. Except for one thing: The turn signal will stay on all the time when the running lights are on.

And the fix for this is described here:

I'm not seeing that anyone tried this and confirmed. I do see a lot of people taping or cutting the left side pin on a 3157 which would come with the OEM housing. Just want to make double sure that using a 3156 instead would work so as to avoid any issue with the install since I won't be the one working on it.
In theory, that should work. 3156 and 3157 have the same base. As you mentioned, 3157 are dual function. As long as the two contacts from the harness line up with the two wire contacts on the 3156 bulb, it will illuminate.
