Red Bulbs for Rear Turn Signals?
I have "Bat's" red/smoke overlays on my rear turn signal/back-up lights and when the signal is on, some white light leaks thru the top and bottom of them which cheapens the way they look IMO. I do like the look of the overlays and would like to keep them on so, does anyone know (1) if any red bulbs are available to replace the clear ones, (2) Any idea how much, (3) How difficult are they to swap out?
Thanks in advance for your help-

Hmmm, OK. Guess I was looking deeper than I really needed to, huh? Does the paint can/bottle (whatever) actually say "semi-transparent" or is there something else to identify it? Also, how hard is it to get at them? Thanks Bat...still love your overlays BTW-

Z4ToddB,
I think Blue was kidding because bulb will get too hot for some "transparent hobby paint" and you may end up finding it melted inside of your housing. Try and find some high-temp paint if you go that route.
Good luck.

I have LED bulbs that have been used. the name of the user that has them escapes me now; Ill have to check my email on my other computer. he used them as a red bulb because he is in england and apparently law says one of the backup bulbs has to be red.
but... in your case, this might be overkill, as the great part of it is that its colorless when off. and this doesnt matter for you.
for you, any red tail light bulb 7440 or 7443 will do fine. 21w. if you can find one, try pepboys, autozone ect.

Excellent! I was hoping I wouldn't have to paint them but was going to if that was my only option. Thanks Ares! You too Bat, appreciate your suggestion-
