Default Adding lightness in 'murca

I am in the US and lots of the links in the mod list are for Japan, i want a company who readily ships to the us with fast and friendly customer service and i want:

A FULL CF FRONT END, not to look cool mind you, something much MUCH lighter than stock!

so who makes lightweight hood, fenders, and bumper for the 350Z??

also, I like the look of the Fuzion style hood from performancenissan

it looks great, even though its about ~1 lb lighter than stock

o well, love the venting, love the scoop, looks like it'll scuttle away lots of unwanted hot air above the engine and stuff

Thanks all

(waiting for the 2K5 Z to come out so I can buy the crap outta a new touring model)

if you really want to save weight, you need dry carbon pieces (im not even sure who makes any right now for our car) ... it would run you roughly $10k++ for the front pieces - fenders, bumper, hood.

on the other hand, most of the fiberglass kits will be lighter than the stock pieces

Im afraid he is correct. dry carbon is extremely expensive. 10k for it MIGHT be a bit high, maybe 6-7k; possibly...

prices you quoted are inline with some good CF overlays or crappy wet CF.

incase your not familiar; difference between wet and dry; dry they put the part in a vacumme bag and suck any and all excess resin from the mold; to get it as light as physicly possible. apparently thats rather difficult.

*sigh*

you dont have to go to extremes like dry carbon fiber to save weight man

I know thats expendy, i wasnt talking **** sorry to offend

I was just saying that I can keep it nicht so teuer but still have lighter weight

dont need to bring the hostilities to my post,
morroccan_mole

but I forgive you

anyway, is it really your opinion that onyl dry carbon fiber will save weight?

Isnt it also more flexible and less strong and less impact resistant?

well, again, sorry to offend

but thanks for the help anyway!

does amuse have a website?

front bumper is already urethane...you're not going to get much lighter

carbon hatches are out there and save a good amount of weight. Fit might be an issue

hood on the stock car is alumimum...again, not going to get much lighter
