Default Grannie "Cargo Net"

IMHO Nissan’s cargo net looks like it should be in my grand mother’s 84 Volvo wagon! OR, maybe on the head of one of those ladies who work in the cafeteria line. Hee, hee.

And for $30?!?!

Here is an alternative; 36” Bungee cords from Home Depot. Secure any and all loose items, customizable to any color your little heart desires, all while maintaining the look of the embroidered ”Z.” And did I mention they are less than $5?

what about odd shaped stuff, like say the odd bag of groceries, or a book bag? you cang keep that strapped down with 2 bungee cords.

and I prefer the blending black mesh from nissan, tho I realize you could get black bungee cords. you can remove it and tuck it away when you dont need to.

IMHO an actual cargo net looks much better and is more versitile.

If 30$ is too much for you, consider getting a motorcycle helmet net, which come in many colors, and are only about 15$.

I ordered the cargo net, but you might want to go to a motorcycle shop and see the nets that they have there. I used to have one for my ZX6 that was a net made up of bungee cords, worked great.

Cool Me again!

Let’s face it people – money was never the issue.

I do OWN a Z!

I just thought the standard cargo net was kind of old fashioned and frumpy. The bungees hold everything I need to tie down.

Groceries?!?! What are those?

I am a bachelor and loving it! I eat out.

Peace.

Ok, so how is that supposed to hold down most things? I would think that use of bungee cords is pretty limited. Anything small will roll around still.

Default thumbs down

I think the original cargo net and seat organizer look a whole lot better than this.

I got mine a couple of weeks ago along with an oil filter only cost $76.00.

It's a lot more functional, trust me. Although I don't think I've used the seat organizer yet. I usually put everything in the trunk.

Has only one seen a security cover for the hatch area yet?

Same boat here. Maybe someday I'll find a good use for that seatback organizer, but right now, it just get's in my way. You have to flip that top velcro cover open, to get to the seat-back handle, to move the seat forward, to re-clip the passenger seatbelt, every time you start to drive away, when you hear the belt rattling, after having a passenger.

The stock cargo net though, I use, and like, for small stuff, such as my digitial camera case, a mapbook, 12 pack, etc.

Hey Scaf, I purposely adjust the passenger seat so that I can reach behind it to get to the seatbelt, without moving it. I can do it without looking, while I am driving, no problem. The only person who adjusts the seats in the car (so far) has been my girlfriend, since she like the handle on the door to be comfortable to hold on to with that death grip of hers.

My Mazda Rx7s had great ones that hooked to the hatch and opened automatically when you opened the hatch. I'd like to have something like that for the Z. In the meantime, I'm going down to the Container Store and see if I can find something that will compartmentalize the area so things aren't sliding all over the place. Nothing wrong with the bungee cords, they're just a little limited when it comes to things like those skimy little plastic sacks that pass for grocery bags these days.

Default Cargo nets

I still think a motorcycle net looks best, and they are only 10 bucks.

Your trunk looks like Spiderman, DaGimp.

I love the stock net. My trunk would be all scuffed up if it were not for it. Groceries, and just about anything from the store, would have marked it all up. You talk about it looking like a grannies car, which I don't get, but you must drive like a granny if those bunjies provide enough for you. My stuff still slides everywhere inside the net, if I didn't have it it'd be like WW3 in my hatch!

I really like the fact that the nissan cargo net is actually a 'bag'. You can unclip it at the corners, and lift out everything.
