Default Silver Bulb Question

i see a lot of threads about a silver bulbs for the turn signal, but i've never seen a thread about a silver bulb replacement for the small blub inside the headlight housing.

for those with the HID setup. there the main HID headlight, then theres the high beam light and then there another little tiny (clear) bulb off to the side thats always on.

does anyone know what im talking about? anyway, does anyone make a silver bulb replacement for it?

ARES makes replacement LEDs for them.

The main reason people buy the silver turn signals is to remove the ugly orange reflection of the orange bulbs itself.

The bulb you are referring to is small and not that ugly by itself.
The color it emits is ugly in comparison to HIDs, though.

...hence...getting some LED's by Ares or by PIAA will match the clean hue coming from your HID's.

The LED "replacement" is a whole entire setup with bright LED's. The bulb will be clear with an LED in the center.

I think you wouldnt want to go Chrome bulb there because whenever your HID's come on, those have to come on too.

Having a film of chrome over the bulb AND having it on for long durations might make the bulb too hot. That chrome paint or layer might melt away. Plus, you might want those lights to be bright enough to light up the peripheral (preference only). Having chrome on the bulbs will reduce that.

The blinkers CAN be chrome because they are off most of the time and only blink in short intervals. Got my chrome blinkers from Evo lights, if I can recall the name correctly. It's been so long.

But yeah...the stock ones definitely don't go well with the HID's. They're like a **** yellow. My PIAA LED's are bright white with shifts or hints of blue if you look at them directly. They match the HID's perfectly.

Good luck.

I don't think anyone makes a 194 thats chrome coated, it would be kind of pointless...

BTW, I'm pretty sure the coating on regular chrome bulbs will not ever "melt" off...

True otherwise I wouldn't have bought the chrome Evo bulbs. There are alot of cheap bulbs out there in the rice sections of your local Autozone that will melt/ discolor/strip (however you wanna put it) after a little use.

Yep. That was huge reason why myself and a lot of 350Zers went with the EVOstyle bulbs.
