RDX Antenna still wins over the Dodges. It's still shorter. Guys, to fix the gap, why don't you all just get a hack saw and saw off a thread or two off the antenna and that makes the threads shorter. So it will then go FLUSH!

LOL!

Solo, the Dodge antenna still wins, because you don't need to resort to a hacksaw to make it look better, and the tip looks better.

So you rather have a longer antenna. Okay. Whatever floats ya boat.

Honestly I wouldn't really notice the difference between the two... the point is there are a couple of solutions out there that are both better than the awful s2k option, both of them keep factory level reception, and both are cheaper than the s2k.

/Thread
^ and I am allowed to do that because I'm the OP.

Yup, corrrect. Seriously, your talking about a half inch that no one would notice unless seeing it side by side (which you normally wouldn't).

A gap, you'll notice. An antenna 1/2 longer then other antennas out there, you won't.

It's a no brainer

I just wanted to say thanks for a great thread and a great read.

Called Acura, they said special order and 10 bucks....

Called Dodge, 4 bucks and I could pick it up after work.

Flush and available, Dodge wins!!!

No one notices my gap at all and I have yet to shave the threads.

I went with a shorter antenna for a reason, to get away from the factory long one.

So how much is the Dodge one? $6 bucks for the RDX one is a deal.

I was pretty much happy with my S2000 antenna .. over the stock fishing pole. Never did care for the 'overhang' but .. wasn't something that kept me awake nights! .. figure .. if there had been an Acura dealer close by, I might have gone with the RDX .. as it was .. there was a Dodge dealer just up the road so I went with that. It's all good info for the enthusist who finds out that either Acura or Dodge ... they can get a nice fitting, short antenna with good reception and do so for less the the cost of a 6-pak of beer. You can't beat that.

Well that's great that no one notices the gap. The photos a few posts up shows there is indeed a gap. If people notice it or not; that's not the issue. The issue is, it's there.

Sure, $6 for an RDX antenna is a great deal. $3.50 for a Dodge antenna is a better deal, though.

The Dodge one looks a heck of a lot shorter than the stock. The RDX and Dodge antennas are basically the same size. The Dodge has NO gap, and the RDX does have a gap. The RDX has an ugly end, and the Dodge has a nice end. What seriously is the argument here? If you want to pay $2 more for an antenna that has a funky tip and doesn't sit flush to the base, then all the power to you. Don't be hating though because you bought the RDX antenna before seeing the Dodge was better, and cheaper

You really seem to make everyone think the gap is huge when it's barely noticeable. Even on the Dodge one it looks like there might be a gap too. Come on man. Give it up, it's just a freakin antenna. Both are cheap, both work good.

And IMHO the RDX antenna is nicer looking than your Dodge or S2k antenna. It's smooth with no tips or groves in it at all. The dodge has that ugly tip on it. So I don't get what antenna you are looking at you keep calling ugly. See pictures below. RDX antenna.
