Damn...word travels fast! Yes, that was my car. My buddy has that Evo....runs a 12.5 on at the track.

Ok, here is the play by play. (excuses):

The first race, he staged up behind me, and didnt know that, and the flagger suddenly dropped his arms. So I didnt even race.

The second race, I burned my clutch so badly in 1st gear, that when I went to shift into 2nd gear, the clutch was still on the floor!!! So I aborted that one as well. I honestly thought I broke my clutch and would have to tow her home. (

After we let the clutch cool down for 15 mins, we did another race from a 1st gear rolll...and I pulled all the way.

New twin disc carbon ATS is going in with the engine rebuild. I am sure we'll be doing more races in the future.

I am also practicing my drifting skills....we'll be making some kick *** videos of that shorlty.

racing a EVO from a stop a on 19" street tire is a horrible idea... I learned that the hard way.

LOL...I hear ya Charles! On the second race, he jumped a good 3 cars before I knew what hit me. It is also very nerve racking to see him jump the line so hard...it makes you burn the clutch and spin tires even more. I will stick with the rolls for now.

Oh, also, this "track" was only 1/8 mile long.

I was racing a Mustang on drag radials and i know exactly what your saying. He jumped 2 1/2 cars right off the line and all i did was spin out even worse.

Please dont forget about my GB!!!

Yeah, moderately modded. Essentially had all the bolt ons except for the turbo upgrade. exhuast, downpipe, intercooler upgrade..etc..etc..

He runs a 12.5 on the track.

This is going to sound a little mean but.....really you spent how much to get your doors blown off by a EVO!!!! I feel for you get the clutch fixed and the driving skills up and eat that mother up....Put some smaller rims and some Drag Radials on the ***** and beat him.....No need for AWD just better driving!!!!

yeah.. but at the end of the day, it is still a suped up Lancer. I'd much rather be seen in GQs 350Z than an EVO.

Was the EVO on drag radials? My guess is Sharif was running on street rubber. I was there the day he ran the 12.8sec 1/4 on street rubber and that was on a slick track. I'm sure with better traction his car would eat that same EVO alive, let alone with the comp clutch.

Yup..>Street tires and 19's and stock clutch is no match for a modded Evo on a 1/8 mile "track". We'll rematch shortly...with proper rubber and a good clutch.
