Why don't you just use the plugs that are recomended in the install manual which are Iridium ones?

HKS Super Fire Racing Spark Plugs (S40iL, heat range 8)

I run these currently and have no issues.

I got the NGK one heat range cooler but keep hearing you should not use Platinum plugs ? I have tried to order HKS plugs with no success.

Any chance you guys could put that video back up?? I keep missing it.

Also any sound comparison? I like the supercharger whine but the quieter the better. Is it actually quieter than the other centrifugal s/c's out there like HKS claims?

To me it is pretty quiet to the point at idle you really cannot hear it. My only issue is on first start of the day it squeals for 2 seconds and goes away. I haven't worked this one out yet.

How about the sound at WOT? Really loud whine? I've been reading up about the Rotrex in other applciations (M3, TVR Typhon etc) and from what they saiy it sounds like a lower pressure turbo, no crazy whistling. Same with you guys?

That is truly awesome. Thanks for the reply. I'm really impressed with the Rotrex design, it's very clever. Most of the FI people seem bent on huge power numbers, I'm more interested in adding some additional HP, and being relatively quiet- or really as much like an NA motor as possible. I'd ideally prefer NA but it's too costly I think to get the kind of power I'd like, and then it'd be a peaky engine. And this is a bolt on kit..... Hmmmm...... Thanks again guys for relaying all this information!!

Dont know who your talking about but if they have a AT then thats about the right # for a auto. About the wine mine is loud at start up but after a min or so its quites down. Now you can still hear the wine at highway speed. or even around town.

They say no bolt ons but if you are willing to replace/upgrade the fuel system and ecu ie: F-CON V, Forged Internals etc then I do not see why you cannot aim for the 400+HP. With a set of cams you would be looking around 380WHP. So maybe with cams and an alternate pulley the 400 will be within reach.

If you want easier

so you're saying even with just cams, it would throw off the hks tuning? if it doesnt and if i can get ~380whp with a set of cams that would hold me off until i can save enough money for the rest of the upgrades.

I am not coming here to talk chit about the HKS supercharger, but why spend all that money for all the parts listed above just to get 400hp? You can get that power with the Turbonetics or APS ST for a lot less.

Default Is it Legal Yet?

Here in California, the question is:

Has HKS recieved or applied for California - ARB certification?

Cheers Amy -

A year ago the HKS rep said six months.
