That's rediculous! You could have gotten those numbers with bolt ons. I hope things work out for you. That is a lot of money for those numbers.

well the car is still a little lean that was only making 5psi and the exhaust if you read is still all stock(lots of back pressure) on an 5AT. the belts have stretched now and i retightened them and it is making 7psi now. i am going to wait to get the HKS exhaust and i am going to retune the f-con sz and dyno the car again with just the cat back. and then add race cats, headers, cams etc. i am doing this to give you guys numbers on the different stages.

a little lean?? I thought a/f ratio was between 11.7 and 12 the entire time?

I'm not bashing your numbers, becuase they really don't matter much IMHO. . But I was expecting to see at least 320whp+.

What was your baseline dyno?

Porting your Rotrex is messing with success, you may have upset the tuning.

It sounds like all you did was port the housing. The reason HKS is making that kind of power is because they also did a host of other mods.

Import Tuner article on the HKS car

Specially prepared for HKS USA, the compressor housing was ported and a prototype 9.5-psi pulley was fitted to the supercharger to replace the standard 7-psi unit. The standard upgraded fuel pump was used, although the two auxiliary 525cc injectors were dumped in favor of upgrading all six injectors to 650cc units. Controlling those injectors is an HKS F-CON V Pro D Jetro standalone engine management system, tuned by HKS USA. The standard intercooler included in the kit was also dumped, replaced with a larger prototype S-Type front mount. The included bypass valve was replaced with an SSQV blow-off valve, made by HKS—obviously.

Inhaled through a Super Mega Flow intake, air is compressed, ignited and expunged through prototype HKS SPL headers and into an HKS Dual Hi-Power Ti exhaust system. An HKS dry-carbon engine cover and limited-edition oil cap add a little perk to the under-hood looks. The internals on the VQ35 engine are dead stock, tuned to handle the 9.5 psi of boost using only the F-CON V Pro and 100-octane gas. Anything’s better than California’s 91-octane pea soup. Fit with HKS S35iL Superfire Racing spark plugs and a HKS limited-edition 1.3bar radiator cap, this 350Z has proven to be both capable and powerful.

Nice article. It's a bit sad that to achive those numbers they changed so much in the original kit. The fuel system I understand but needing a different ECU, FMIC and BOV is a bit much to swallow and will can all see the $$$ start counting.

i put the car on the dyno last night after installing the Invidia dual catback exhaust. temp was 88.52 the humidity was 47% it made 319.92whp and 312.53wtq. i thought that was pretty good.

so to recap for mods:2004 350z 5AT- HKS Rotrex ported housing w/ f-con sz 7psi-Invidia dual catback. this car feels fast and it is only running 7 psi with stock cats, and a big injector set up in the middle of the plenum. i like the room for improvement that this car has. oh and driveability is unbelievable!

i am going to get rid of the additional injectors, add new larger injectors and change the plenum and i will then dyno the car again and let you all know how that goes.
