Default Vortech SC Question?

I was wondering if a Vortech SC can be installed using a JWT oil pan spacer drilled for the oil return instead of drilling that hole in your engine.

thanks

I drilled my oil pan. I have heard theat most people believe it is not a good idea to drill the spacer.

I would advise against it since that places the return below the oil level. The Vortech oil return is a gravity feed and this will impact the flow of oil back to the pan.

Another issue, although I can't see how it would happen, is that the return hose could act like a pickup if somehow the oil flow was momentairly reversed. This would introduce unfiltered oil into the SC which is not good.

You can do it, but someone told me you have to make a j-pipe to the spacer above the oil level.

Didn't seem worth it to me. If I had gone Vortech over APS Single Turbo I would have just drilled the oil pan.

You can also get an APS oil pan and bypass the whole drilling thing
It also holds 1 quart more oil.

Thanks guys I am still looking into this, im still not sure. I think the level of the oil pan with the spacer is low enough for gravity flow and will not back up. I mean if you are punching it the oil pressure raises so much that it might be better to have that extra oil and return. Just a thought.

Thanks Rick

They will try and keep it under 10 hours just for the install. They will most likely be making improvements over the stock install route.
Thats @ 89.00 per hour but I am buying several extras:
APS OIL PAN
AEM WB02
HKS BOV
bunch of other parts and etc.....

You are using a HKS BOV on your Vortech? how does that work? I have only seen people with GReddy S's.
