Default Driving in the rain with the T-netics kit.

Has anyone with the T-netics kit driven in the rain? Is the filter safe were it is located to drive in the rain? It's just that the tropical storm seems to be coming right in my general direction and I dont want to end up hydro locking the engine. Or damage the filter.

I just drove to our club meeting today in the pouring rain. The only issue I had was the rear tires breaking loose when I hit the gas.

that is the single biggest issue...in the rain anyway...the local body shop here that does all the Nissan dealer work claims that everytime it rains he gets in 2-3 350Z that have crashed from hydro-plain related crashes...drive carfully.

Yeah, I haven't had any problems keeping the Z under control in wet weather. I don't boost hard in the rain, and usually keep VDC on just in case.

I would think traction would be a bigger issue than anything, especially with the huge boost in power suddlendly around 2500 rpms. I have problems controlling my NA Z as it is in the rain and I'm riding on Toyo PROXES T1-S' (235/40/R-17). I find having at least a half a tank of gas makes the ride more stable and less jumpy since you ahve more weight to keep the rear wheels planted. I know once I have my kit I wont put it on till I can afford some nice wide wheels and grippy tires. I'm thinking 9.5" wide Gram Lights with beefy 275 or 295 tires out back. The new Corvette hits around the same hp as my intended goal and I believe they run 295s in the rear.

No, the boost doesn't just kick in automatically at 2500. It all depends really on how open your throttle plate is. The kit is totally streetable. You could drive it as if it wasnt even on the car if you gradually get into the gas.

That's what I love about this kit. I can drive absolutely normal when I want, but boost is always there whith just a tap of the foot.

Just keep the front of your car out of rivers, lakes, and the Gulf, and you should be OK.

You should have no problem controlling you na Z in the rain if you're on toyos.

i dont know about that. I dont think itll matter what tire you run, you'll still brake loose. Dont get me wrong, toyos are amazing in the rain.

He was talking about his N/A Z. I have toyos on my Z, and I have no problems in the rain, unless you're trying to do dumb things. For regular driving, one should not have any problems in the rain with toyo's. They have a MUCH better grip than the stock potenzas in the rain.
