get an oil catch can too...i cleaned mine out yesterday, about 1/3 a cup of oil in it...oil that would have normally been fed back into the intake and into the cylinders, oil that lowers the threshold for detonation

talk to sharif..

How often do you need to clean out the catch can?

(Everybody down on the floor... this is a thread hijacking!)

mine started to leak a very small amount of oil out of the line that feeds back into the intake, i figured there was enough oil inside jumping around that it made its way to the return line...took about 2 months, or a little less than that...wasn't even close to full, but had enough to justify spilling it out

Thanks for the orders GMAN, Neff, and others. Catch cans have been a hot item as of late.

I had one extra for my car...but alas...I had to ship it to a customer.

The car came home from the hostipal tonight. Per the Dr's orders I have take it easy on her for 1000 miles. I should have her back in the shop by next Wednesday. After she is safely tuned, I will drive her up next Sunday to Sharif and CPrace so they can finish her off.

So far the only thing I am not to thrilled about is a clattering noise the clutch makes at idle. It is not obnoxiously loud but you can hear it well. It reminds me of the noise the damn bearing in the vortech would make when the idle would dip below 500 RPM.....kinda embarassing.

Up next:

Emange Ultimate tuned by Sharif/CPrace
PLX R-500 A/F, EGt, & knock Amp
Greddy Catch Can
A good floggin on the drive back to Miami

Sharif,

Give my wife some time to get over the shock of my lastest mod bill, and I will order my suspension. Thanks for everything.

oops, I thought it was in my sig......ATS Twin Carbon. Don't worry it is not that bad, but you can definately hear it. I took my neighbor for a spin and he even asked what that noise was. You can hear clatter at idle with the clutch depressed. When you press the clutch down you get a different noise. Once is motion all is good.

Chris, I have a couple more catch cans in stock right now.

Chris and GMan, I have noticed variations in noise between different ATS carbon clutch installs. For instance, the clutch in my car is near silent, whereas 350ZDKalbs is noisier. Either way, I dont think its a very loud noise, but some clutches seem quieter than others. I did notice the ATS we put in Chris's car the other day, looked like it had some different material on the surface of the metal pressure plates. Maybe this is done to reduce noise?
