Default AAM Fuel Pressure Adapter... Need help.

After paying to have this thing overnighted for "convenience factor" of install, it has turned into a nightmare. No matter what I have done, it keeps ripping the O-ring gaskets and spitting fuel out. I have used spit, silicone and even tried switching the O-ring with the AAM one.

It is incredibly hard to get the OEM Fuel piece into the AAM unit and once it gets in, it has always been ripped.. If there is a possibility that AAM sent me the wrong piece, this would be ridiculous. I can't even imagine installing this in any other way, if anyone has any tips feel free to let me know.

AAM:

Oh it may look right, but it leaks fuel everywhere:

You can see the tear on the O-ring:

Feel free to follow along with my installation here: http://g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62438

I had the same issue, not to mention the fact that my fuel pressure sender unit still didn't clear the fuel hose that mounts on top.

To take car of the fuel leaking just get a smaller O ring. You want the same diameter, but a not as thick of one. I found the right one at checker.

sounds like the oriface the o-ring goes into was not properly deburred.

since you probably dont have a correct deburring tool, I would attempt to use anything around to smooth out the entry way there... chamfer it, radius it.. whatever you want to call it... but use something that is a harder metal to round off the edge so that it doesnt cut it anymore.

as for the guy whos sending unit still didnt clear it... you must have one of those massive gold autometer ones? The only way they could do anything about that is to make the adapter even taller, and I personally think its already kinda tall and blocky looking. What you could do is find a 45 degree male/female 1/8 NPT fitting at the hardware store and angle it as required. However I would worry about one of thoes big heavy sending units break off from its own weight over time.

when i did this install had the same problem with the oring on the fuel damper. after the 1st time it got cut, i pressed the o-ring+fuel damper down a bit.. then with a small flat screw driver pushed the oring where it was bulging out, it worked..

did this will the aam unit in place.. providing a stable base to keep pressure on the fiuel damper while helping the oring go in.. try it, it should work.. make sure that you have a fresh oring and the area is clean of fuel so that it doesn't expand making this even harder
