Default APS ST on AT -- My Drive Results

I got the APS ST installed on my G35 AT by Brainstorm Performance in LA.

First, if you live in LA and want an APS kit, got to Brainstorm. Those guys take their time and will not allow you to take delivery until their lead mechanic gives it a tune on their dyno, and is otherwise comfortable with the install. Brainstorm also has the bat line to APS; if there are any problems, they can get quick answers from APS. They tuned my kit pretty conservatively. Admittedly, I don't know that that means, other than the fact that it is less likely that my engine will blow. These guys really run a quality shop.

Second, I am at the 1000 mile anniversary and I absolutely love the kit -- more power, speed and torque, especially at the low end. The sound is awesome. I have had no problems to date (knock on wood.) I will not bore you with the details of my stupid acts of speed while in the car (except to say that I was impressed by the fact the CHP's stealth SS camaros on the 10 Freeway in California -- hint hint to those who know the area -- are able to got 130 to 140 mph; no I did not get a ticket, but that is another story.)

I bought the kit because the stock motor, even with my other bolt ons, was too sluggish; the G35 weighs a ton. I wanted a few hps to keep up with the m3s, porsches etc. that frequent my living area. However, this is my daily driver and I did not want to go overboard in building up the engine. I would give the thumbs up for this kit.

The only problem that I have had with the kit is the down pipe and heat plates -- because i am on eibach pros (about an inch drop) any time I go over speed bumps -- scrap argh -- I think I am going back to stock springs.

Your setup sounds great. What kind of power did your car put down. RWHP? Also what other mods do you have done. Enjoy it.

330 at the wheel. Other mods include Kinetix V4 -- SSV is on order. Borla TD exhaust (only the back portion because the APS kit has the down pipe), nothing else on the engine

I have a performance suspension, and probably the best set of shoes around Mayas with POs wrapping them.

It is trully a sleeper and will keep it that way.

Congrats!! Have you gotten used to shifting in both AT and "manumatic" yet?

Thank you Chris. I will see you at 1000 anniversary for some new oil.

I have not used the manumatic; too be honest, been too busy at work to really test the car out.

In two weeks, that all changes and we will see what the car can do with a road trip to Vegas.
