Tuning after installing Stillen S/C
Is there a way to go about tuning a 350Z with a Stage III Stillen S/C? I know there is no way to plug into the unit they supply, but can it be tuned at the original ECM and still have an effect or would the Stillen module over-ride any mods made there? Am I making sense? I am kinda new to this........
go buy a apexi afc 2 ..($350)..thats the cheapest piggyback system and it works great...have it on my z.....i have procharger though....go have it dyno tuned.with the afc..they can answer all of your questions...

Stillen uses the Split Second unit.We have the software for it.The Split Second allows for timing retard. The S-AFC does not.If you take off the Split second and use an S-AFC, your motor will blow in short order becasue of lack of timing retard. The thing about it is that the Eaton SC on the Stillen kit runs very hot and the liquid to air intercooler really leaves alot to be desired. You need to retard that timing or a catastrophic engine failure wil occur.

You might be able to increase the power a bit if you do some minor tuning with the Split Second. However you have to "break into the box" which might void your warranty with Stillen

As a matter of fact I have thier file on my computer right now and I can tell you this much, they retard the timing quite a bit as the car goes under boost.About 1 degree per psi.
