Front view showing dual auxiliary injectors and front mounted throttle body.

View from the rear. Showing drive belt and adjustable tension pulley.

Explain the "front mounted" intake? And the rear pulley system?

Did I mention anything in my previous posts about the plunging level of intelligence in overall posts on the forum? At least 60% of the posts on this thread in meanless idiocy. The references to the Dreamworkes blower were only funny the first 8 times. And the stuff about the exclusivity of the APS kit, I think that someone has been taking too many hits from those smoking tailpipes. Anyway, I become more and more tempted to trade in my Z for a Cayman or a used Carrera. There is no way, from the direction the things have been taking that this forum will ever approach the Porsche boards in terms of intelligent info exchange and overall maturity.

The Turbonetic kit seems pretty reliable, only 1 blown engine so far, but it won't make 400whp out of the box. If you can settle for 360-370whp tho, the TN kit is a good choice.

I think that the next thread that someone should start should be, "Who can be the fastest azzhole to say do a search". There are new people buying Z's everyday that some of them have bought them because they have seen other with hooked up Z's so they want to be part of the club and the only thing they get when trying to learn is newbie do a search. lets embrace these fellow z owners and help them

well everyone's answer to everything here is to go turbo...even if you don't have upgraded tires/wheels. It's just the bragging right that you have a turbo that half the people are after. Not necessarily because it really is the best solution for someone and their driving habbits or budget etc. I remember being a total car newbie and getting a turbo sounded like just a great thing with the only drawback was the expense. Now that I'm more aware of some of the pro's and cons of each setup, I'm going with something that suits me better than a turbo

the other thing is to take product reviews here with a grain of salt. Every mod "pulls and pulls all the way to redline!!!" or "pushes me back so hard in my seat!!!" or "moves me like the hand of god is pushing the car!!" It could be a plenum spacer or a 600whp TT setup - they're all going to get the same kinds of things said about them.

people PM me all the time about specific NA mods I have and I start by telling them it's nice, but not THAT nice - just to not give them false expectations. So many people spend big bucks on performance and become a little defensive about how "great" their mods are. Of course THEIR FI kit is the "best" and how it was SO worth it etc etc. I'm sure some people do feel that way. But after awhile they'll get used to it and the car will feel slow to them. Others are trying to externally justify that they made the right choice by bragging about it and getting other people to envy their setup - it's human nature

i tell people when they ask why i bought my kit and it's up to them to make an informed choice. if you want vortech, buy vortech. if you want turbonectics, buy turbonetics. don't expect someone to invest thousands of dollars in their car to tell you that their kit is crap and buy something different. and yeah i did say that the aps st kit is exclusive. there have only been 100 produced. not to brag, but as a matter of fact. if it were a rim or a plenum, you would say the same thing. if i used the wrong word, my bad. peace

One can make a joke without making it look like he is intending to make the other guy feel dumb. The topic that started the thread was a legitimate question. Sometimes it really looks like like some people really get off on making themselves look/feel clever by posting statements like "do a search, noob!". One must realize, that things do have a tendency to change over time and was was an ideal setup a month ago is already getting replaced by something else.
Oh, BTW, why it is never the sponsorsw ho post the pearls of cleverness? Anything to do with not discouraging potential customers? And it's the sponsors' money that keep the board going, not the $ we from selling there "jokes" so big comedy clubs around the country.

Although the the last post from Netko clears things up a bit. Nothing like set of twins, turbos or otherwise, although picking her up in a Porsche is easier then in a Z I'm sure.

Alright alright...stop the bickering. Answer the question or GTF out. Nobody is making you read the newbie posts...

While I'll second the "search" request (the hits you'll get are pretty recent and will hit on this topic exactly), my personal answer to your question is this:

You can get 400 WHP with any of the Turbo kits available for this car. All of the Centrifugal-type superchargers can get you there as well. Which one you choose depends on what kind of power you want. Superchargers deliver power that increases linearly with engine speed. Superchargers create parasitic power loss though, so you will pay for the boost. Turbochargers wills spool up to full boost quickly and hold, giving you better low-end performance with similar top end results. My personal choice was a Single-turbo kit and here's why:

The TT kits are capable of exceeding the safe limits of the engine, therefore unless you plan on building your motor, you're paying for potential you can't use. The Turbonetics kit (and I only mention it specifically because it's what I have) is good for 370 or so "out of the box". If 400 WHP is your goal, buy the tuner version which comes with everything but the upgraded pump, injectors and fuel management solution. If you buy these components yourself and combine them with the kit, you'll get 400 WHP with a conservative tune (see my thread here: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=151728). The price is right, the performance is good, it's the best looking kit on the market, and 400 WHP is so much fun you just can't stand it.

Good luck.
