Default Torque

I have a Vortec supercharger and my rwhp is at 376 but my torque number is at 309. Why so low. What will increase it?

superchargers are belt/pulley driven....you scarifice torque because you have to drive the supercharger from the engine whereas a turbo setup uses exhaust pressure.

The SC's boost increases with rpm . So when we are at 4500 rpm , your boost is only 1 to 3 psi and a TT car has full boost at 4500rpm . So you will not see the same trq increase as you do hp , over a stock car

charged, how's your traction? Do you easily spin out your tires or not really?

If you had ton more tq like the ST or TT people do, you might have traction problems

what someone else posted in correct, the centrifugal superchargers do not make enough boost low enough in the RPM for the bad *** peak torque numbers that the TT's make... but that doesnt mean they cant haul ***!

Still, that number is a bit on the low side...I would have thought it be closer to 330...did you have your setup tuned on the dyno?/ What's your A/F like??
