Exclamation Royal Purple

Royal purple 5w/30 for the engine, and I ran royal purple max gear 75/90w in the tranny 6spd and differential housing. This stuff is unreal!!!!!!!! Gear changed quicker and gained some mpg's when not all over it with the right foot

Everyone raves about Motul or Redline.

If you don't want to spend a fortune, I'd say go with Amsoil or Royal Purple. Weight depends on the environment you live/drive in, but most would recommend a slightly heavier oil since you're cycling it through two hot turbos. I believe APS advises customers to go with 10w40 with their TT kit.

Pep Boys or you can go to their website and do a search of local places. Runs about $6.00 a quart

Motul would be the best oil you can used for any car. We have used them in our US touring WRX without any engine failure throughout the season. However, Motul cost about $20 per quart. The other oil I would recommend would be Redline, about $8 per quart.

Thanks,
Tom

How does a consumer tell which oil is better than the next?

Lot's of personal opinions here but I don't see anyone stating a single fact.

Let's see some facts why you just shouldn't use Mobil one which is available at any WalMart in America @ low prices.

Why would you use anything else?

Can anyone offer any factual info? Just the smallest bit of scientific fact would make me happy here. So let's hear it.

Well if you check my link I have an oil analysis report there and some data comparing it to other oils. I will be getting another analysis done soon as well.

I checked the link. But what is being compared here? Are "other oils" synthetics or mineral based?

All we really know is how well your oil stood up after 3000 miles.

I believe the jump from mineral to synthetic is definetly justifiable. But among synthetics, until I see proof one is better than the other It's my belief they are all the same, and you should base your decision on the cheapest, and the most accesible.
