im getting sick of the claims regarding the APS ST needing the APS exhaust. thats horsesh1t! Tuan at GRD switched the actuator and kept the stock exhaust, thats stock exhaust, and it held boost. saying one exhaust is better because its made by APS is ridiculous, its just piping, there isnt any rocket science involved. bullitproof used a JIC single 3" and it held boost. i dropped the entire exhuast and it still dropped boost. i even called GRD and had the credit card in my hand and told Tuan i wanted to order the exhaust, his words were, "thats not what you need".

once again, doesnt have a damn thing to do with the APS exhaust.

totally agree

APS are geniouses at designing their turbo kits in such a way that to get them to high boost you must need THEIR exhaust and THEIR test pipes, and THEIR plenum, and then of course why not use THEIR strut bar

whatever. Lots of APS ****** out there though

wow! personally, i thin anyone is dumb for FI'n a car with a "complete" package turbo kit. that is just my opinion. I think that both kits have their ups and downs as mentioned before. big deal.

You don't need their exhaust, test pipes, or plenum. Just that their exhaust out flows almost every exhaust out there AND mates right up the the ST DP. For their TT setup, you can run any exhaust and test pipes you like. Many are running different company exhausts, but again, many choose APS because of flow.

In regards to their plenum, you can run the crawford or any plenum spacer you want. I run personally run the crawford, but heck, you can even run the stock plenum.

Noone is forced to run APS anything, even those with the ST setups. Many choose to because they are good quality products that outperform most other companies as is the case with their exhaust.

I know you're not forced to use their stuff, but that sure is what people end up getting.

Some people have had a really hard time installing the APS exhaust to the ST kit - like it doesn't mate up right at all or something

I did hear of one instance of a person having a hard time mating up the exhaust. After doing an install just last week on this setup, the fitment was absolutely perfect, so I don't know what to say about that instance.

personally... if i had an aps, I would probably WANT to run their exhaust because they designed it to go with the kit... I have a stillen S/C and run the stillen exhaust with it now... I didnt have to, but chose to.

I had a reverse Y-pipe fabricated for my Greddy Exhaust and it held all the way to redline.

The car dyno'd at GRD with stock plenum at 380 whp and 401 lb/ft torque. The fabricated pipe cost me $150.....so you don't exactly need the APS exhaust..and I was the first car to have the kit installed at GRD
