Also, think of how many times they ran it on the dyno to get that 500+ whp. They definately weren't babying it to get those numbers.
Hey, & remember when they put the VPRO in & tuned it. They said it was slipping like crazy at 330. You know.. Maybe you had a weak/faulty tranny to begin with. All of those runs they did with it slipping probably wore it out back then & now it took a **** after hitting that 538whp.
I know you'll fugure it out & fix it ASAP, so good luck.

Not true at all. The VB does NOT just make the tranny shift faster, it increases the clmaping force at WOP from 210psi of hydraulic pressure (approximately 3000lbs of clapming pressure) to 275psi (do the math on the clamping pressure) for a 31% increase in holding power. Remember that that tranny was designed with about 400crank hp (if oyu take into accoung that it's also found in the qx56). 30% on top of that should make it hold at east 533crank hp. Upgrading the TC and lowering it's stall should lower the fluid temps, which will probably increase it's holding a little bit (maybe negligible). Upgrading the cluth material and bands will get you only another 10% or so (from my research). Adding an additional clutch into each clutch pack, if that's possible here, will yield another 10-25%,a ssuming you go from 4 to 5 packs in that gear. By my calcs, you can then theoritically (and practically) get 630-720 crank HP, that's 510-583 whp reliably, assuming you have a fully and properly built tranny. If it's just the VB, then you are looking at 431whp minimum. All calcs assume 19% drivetrain loss. If you must push more power through the tranny relative to the amt of calculated horsepower that it can handle, then the quality of your ATF cooling IMO will play a major role in determining the ATs lifespan.
BTW, one can ask "why can't we crank the line pressure beyond the 275psi to get more clamping power?" The answer: you can, but that will overdrive the ATs hydraulic pump, and unduely affect its lifespan. With numbers beyond 275, it is estimated that the pump will last around 10-15K miles, and I belive this estimate assumes hard use. If that's what oyu are willing to do, that can sure be arranged.

If anyone is interested I have a used 5at for sale. It has roughly 7500 miles on it. It has been sitting in my garage taking of space for over a year now, as I have a 6mt. I bought it and a longblock in a package, and the guy wouldn't separate them.

We fried first set of clutchpacks on mere 0.5 Bar from Greddy TT after only 700 miles on the car, mind you that is with huge tranny cooler. My point is when it comes to FI on our auto trannies, there's no set number past which clutchpacks will start failing. It all depends on how you drive it.
Good luck with your tranny build. Our path is 6MT swap, all parts are sourced except for ECU, waiting on Technosquare.
P.S. Level 10 - is a big NO NO !!!

It depends, labor being a huge factor.
Here's the rough list of what you will need hardware wise:
-6MT itself
-6MT interior stuff (gauge cluster, tranny tunnel cover, etc)
-6MT handbrake (not quite sure about that one yet)
-6MT pedal cluster
-6MT ECU
-6MT driveshaft
-6MT rear pumpkin (optional)
Once we're done with the swap (~2 months) I'm going to post a big write-up which hopefully will become a sticky.
