Vortech Owners - Bypass Valve Change
Has anyone changed over to the Greddy/HKS and had problems? It is my understanding that the Vortech has more of a bypass valve which more or less acts like a closed loop.
With a BOV, the air is vented to atmosphere. Will the MAF misread information causing problems (hesitation? running rich?)
Are the Vortech and Greddy interchangeable?

The Greddy S type and RS type are BOV's and not Bypass valves . Work different . I couldnt get the either Greddy's to work . The Bypass valve on the Vortech was designed to vent when not in boost and close when vacuum drops and PSI starts to build . The vacuum closes the valve and the boost helps it stay close till the TB closes . Then vacuum builds and it open back up to vent off the boost built up in front of the TB . The BOV works in the other way . Its closed under vacuum and vents when boost builds to adjusted level . So when the TB closes the boost builds in front of it and opens the BOV only long enough to vent the boost at the adjusted level

Rob at Z Car Garage in San Jose, CA did mine.
He's got some sort of silencer he created and it works great. Super quiet.
Hit them up for details.

I am not looking to silence the sound of the Bypass/BOV. I'm acutally trying to get a louder sound (the typical BOV 'voosh' sound) which is not evident with the Vortech one.
