Well I guess with all my hp and tq combined with the way I drive..caused my crankshaft pully to crack you should of seen the key in the keyway it was crooked...oil was coming through there and my timing was all off...Well I fixed it and re ajusted my timing and tune and my car is running better than ever...And no more oil leak....I'm also changing my exhaust and attempting 17lbs boost on my stock block....

Curious.. I have a truckload of oil coming from what looks to be the front main seal.... what symptoms did you experience? How obvious is the crack if one were to look for it?

You have to look up into the crank pully and look at the center for any hail line cracks..you can't really see it from the outside I say you just pull it off and look inside it..

Thats really cool Brian with your car. I already know you have the "big build" on your mind. You better with going to 17 lbs!!! So is Ted making a custom 3" exhaust for you now or are you going APS?

Are you talking about the turbo seal? If so, then do you have the mechanical check valve or the newer electronic one....?

I have the electronic check valve - works fine.

The oil is originating from behind the CP, so I imagine it's spraying out from the front main seal. Not a turbo-related issue, per se. As 'm now pulling 446ft/lb tq, THAT would be a turbo-related problem as the tq is likely creating a situation with the CP. Just my guess, haven't spent any remarkable amount of time to further diagnose. That link to the CP (above) looks to be a good investment tho...

goodbye brian's Z...

Hello brian's Prius.

LOL...good luck bro. I'm seeing how long I can go with 500rwhp / 430rwtq on a stock block...still stock cams, stock plenum, etc... the rev-up cams do make a good difference. I'm still considering the same thing you are though...still have a month to think about it..............

Last night, I was so ready to just part out my car and sell it...but today, after a quick drive after work, my mind changed again...

Brian when you where diagnosing your oil leak problem did you happen to do a leak down and compression test? I know you already found the problem but was curious to know if you checked the health of your motor?

Yeah...that should help you in your decision on what you want to do next with your car! I think you should stay where your at with your set up ( boost and power) until you want to build. It provides more info to everyone to run at this boost level for however long rather that going til you do lose your motor!

Agreed. At this point how many are really running that much more power with a built block. Seems like when you build you run into all kinds of problems. If you follow the posts on here, and I know you do. You can see a pattern. The guys that have built their motors and run high boost run into all sorts of problems. Then you see a topic " Selling the car" I think the down time and $ plays a big part, its just not fun at that point. I think your setup is cool like it is.

To tell you the truth I want to build my motor for longevity not more power. If I could get 100k miles of this fun I would be very pleased
