It's not the boost pressure, it's the cylinder pressure. I still have a hard time believing it's headlift and not vapor eating up the HG. If it were headlift you figure the guys on the stock motor with anything over 450whp would be blowing HG's since the stock motor has stretch bolts.

ya it is cylinder pressure that is doing it. i will find out where exactly it is leaking hopefully by the end of the week. it could be inbetween the cylinders that the head is flexing and letting the cylinder pressure past. if that is the case i have a fix for that. but that little trick isn't gunna be made known till my motor is back together!! hahah. we are still planning to o-ring the block with a thinner ss wire ring. if all this stuff does not work, i have no idea what will and we would have to hope on someone to make new block castings like they did for the hondas.
as said earlier, i'm going pretty much all out on it, so we will see.

For those wondering if a 30# pressure cap vs a 18# will keep the coolant from overflowing!! The answer is yes "but". The coolant now goes thru the "blown head gasket" into the oil. This happened with the boost controller off (no more than 10 PSI) while trying to put some miles on my new clutch! I really knew better than to try the above but I couldn't help myself.

mike, it sounds to me like your sleeves might not holding their integrity. i do not believe it to be very likely that the coolant would make it to the oil drain-backs... but then again its still very possible. But the combustion pressure would seep from the cylinders to the water passages that surround it and evacuate into there. i do not believe that 30# of water pressure is going to push the water thru the headgaskets and allow it to get into the oil. but if your sleeves are not sealing to the block correctly, this would allow water to push past the sleeves and go straight into the crankcase at the base of the sleeves.

Charles, you were right! It looks like the Darton Sleeves are the culprit for the water in the oil. I'll try to post a couple pictures on Monday that show the failure. The cometic gaskets looked okay to me but I'm not an expert. I'll get some professional help on Monday. (Mechanical & "Mental")

Any updates? I would like to know since my darton sleeves were done by SGP's machine shop as well.
This is the last thing i want to hear about, ive had so much trouble trying to get my car up and running that im about to quit on it.

If sleeves are going to go bad, it would have happened during the intense dyno tuning that SGP conducted on the motor. You would have known there was a problem very very quickly.

Well, I'm assembling a FWD VQ for a drag Maxima.. we're using AEBS sleeves, Cometic gaskets, and the standard ARP studs. I, for one, am not convinced that the cylinder heads are flexing/distorting. If that were the case, you would see stress cracks over a period of time. JWT recently tuned one of VRT's cars to the tune of 800+whp... on stock head bolts and gaskets! The car was road raced at the 550whp level, and flogged on the dyno repeatedly... How did this engine not have head lift issues?
We're shooting for 800-850whp in our drag car... So, we'll see how it holds up.

I didn't see headlift on the dyno. It took repeated high boost freeway runs for me to see it and it didn't take a year for it to surface like others have reported. My motor was weeks old.

good luck with the car, but that thing will have no class to race in. none of the classes in the major s/c sanctioning bodies allow fwd 6cyl. cars.
