They tend to be a little bit lax at Rockingham Dragway. Plus, it took me about 8 passes to just get into the 11's, so my series of mediocre low 12's probably lulled them into complacency.

Come to think of it, I think Rockingham requires a cage for sub 11's, but maybe someone can let me know. Either way, there were lots of cars in the 11's, and none of them had cages. So either they were not inforcing it, or the rule does not apply at the open track events. That would be some information to have though.

So these are stock bearings?

Mobil1 in 15w-50 (only) has a HTHS of 5.1 centpoise if memory serves.

That will go a long way to help protect bearings.

Those of you using 30 weight oils are on your own.

even the best syn 30 weight,s are only in the low 3's for HTHS.

Mobil1 often at the lower end of thisd scale, since their syn 30 weights ( 0w-30,5w-30 and 10w-30) are among the lowest in this regard as they run the thin side of 30 weight (which makes OEM approvals easier, as it helps corporate fleet mpg but makes it harder to get good hitemp/highshear values)

Even in my relatively mild SC set-up, I run Redline 10w-40 (HTHS in the 4's I believe) and for hi summer will likely go M1 15w-50.

This may be a stupid question , still wondering if those bearings are bone stock?

Fred..

Yes we will.

Yes, they are OEM Nissan bearings, without any coatings on them.

Can't wait to see what #'s you'll get when your project is finished.

Once my heads, and turbo upgrade arrive, I'll post plenty of pics, and more details of what I am doing.

Sharif, can't wait to see your new upgrades

also, according to the new rules, the cage requirement is for below 11.5 in the quarter so if you run 11.5 or slower, you're ok.. 11.49 and no cage, you're kicked out.

Sharif, looking good brother. Can't wait to see the new beast when your done with it (maybe i'll get the money together sometime this summer to do my motor).

As for Rockingham Dragway, I can vouch for their slackness in rules. You're suppose to wear a helmet for 13.99 or less runs. I ran about 6 passes in the mid 12s and noone said anything to me.

it is always a good thing when you don't see bronze on one side of the bearing, lol.

I assume this means a 4 point rollbar style cage? Or is the full 6-8 point cage required. Any good 4 points that you know of?

I am admittedly a pretty bad drag racer, and the best I mustered was a 2.0 60ft and 11.5@127mph, with roughly 600whp at the wheels.

Most definately a good thing, Scott.
