Can Stillen SC take 05 Vette?

I'm pretty sure there's alot of great kit out there but it depends on each personal taste...I like Stillen due to the FACT that it's the most reliable kit & instant power/tq at the very low rpm. Now the problem with stage 2& 3 was that the power (hp) got flat @ 5.5 K rpm...Stillen got those fixed with stage 4 and yes I can feel the power from 1K rpm thru out 6.5 K....I guess I would give him a try then will post the result.....thanks for all the input

C5s dyno about 305-310whp stock. So you got him with whp, provided he has no mods. Your car is heavier by about 200lbs however so keep that in mind. The race should be close. Be glad he's stock

No the 2005 is a C6
Mt stillen runs 13.0 on stage 3. Its a 5 AT. My best trap has been 108.7. Have a torque converter now and stepping up to stage 4 soon. Track day is june 24 for the ontario Z club, will post times then. Also got some ET slicks and weld rims. RWHP is 307. Should run 12.7 or better with the new tires.
honestly the stillen sc is not worth it. I've ran a stage 2 stillen sc Z in my own Z before when I had my nitrous setup...it wasn't even close.
nate- sure bro I'm down to have some runs I think I've seen your car around before. I'm in the 310 area near Torrance. In all honesty though don't run that C6 for $, do it for fun at most cuz your chances aren't good.

I have no beef with Stillens performance. Reliable and a solid 310RWHP. However, I do have beef with the fact that the stage 4 blew up my engine.
Back on subject, I'm putting 410 lbs of torque down with this JWT kit and I will not beat an experienced driver in a vette on a 1/4 mile. Unless your car is COMPLETELY set up for drag, it's NOT gonna happen. I garauntee it. Have both cars.
PS, for those wondering I love my Z 10 fold to the Corvette, but off the line ... it's not even close.

so my 12.5 in the 1/4 on street tires wouldn't beat a C6? ( I know the stage 3 stillen wouldn't, especially on auto, not enough power)
believe it or not it would be a real close race...

There too many variables to compare though. I've been SMOKED on the track by an N/A G35 while driving my car with 415 RWHP (road coarse). Driver, tires, suspension, weight, track conditions, etc ... Car for car in a perfect enviornment, the Vette simply hooks up WAY better and is geared for it. Not to mention the power.
Would you 1/8 mile race a stock 250HP Evo (provided he/she can keep the crank case together, LOL; had one of those too) with your Turbonetics Mondo Rad CAI and expect to win? I don't think so ... No offense brotha, just reality (my reality anyway!
).
If it is an older <05, and Not a ZO6, it will be close. However, if it is a newer Vette or ZO6, no chance with the Stillen or even most FI cars unless they are set-up to go straight if the distance is less than a 1/4 of a mile. As mentioned, the issue is the Vette's torque, gearing, and suspension.
NOTE: The newer Vettes and even older ZO6s can do 62 MPH in 2nd gear. We have to shift to third to get to that speed in Zs and Gs UNLESS regeared.
Trust me, anything shorter than a quarter mile and the Vette wins.
I have owned both cars and always raced them on the launch and the Vette wins everytime.
Once again, if it is 2006 or newer or an older, 03-05 ZO6, you will buy dinner. Now I can set-up your car to road race him and then I will give you the advantage. Watch our videos, we kill old and new vettes all of the time on roadrace courses. Good luck.
Videotape it!

Actually 2nd ends at around 70 with the stock 3.42 FD in the C5 Z06. 1st ends right at about 50.
But I'm sure he gets your point..
