LMAO-you have a Vortech with 234whp and 305ft/lbs (WTF has to be a mistake-do you mean 334whp?) and you pulled back on a C6 Vette that traps around 113mph? BS! Even with 334whp you wouldnt do that unless the C6 owner wasnt racing or the owner had palsy...
I traded my 05 350Z in on a 2006 C6 manual tranny.
This car is no joke, very fast.
I will go to ATCO with it after it has 2000 miles which should be by September.
A guy I know has the same car BONE STOCK and ran a 12.31@114.8.
Another guy on the Corvette Boards has a Z51 optioned C6 (lower tranny gearing) and he ran 12.23@115.5.
The best stock C6 Z06 ran a 11.3@127+
I would think to keep up with a stock manual tranny C6 (340rwhp-350rwhp) and only 3200#, a 350Z would need at least 360rwhp, probably more like 375rwhp.
My stock 2005 C6 automatic ran a 12.57@110.67 on a 1.92 60'.

Theres no need to be hopeful or optimistic, vettes have killer top end period. That v8 is no joke, especially in the new vette. I personally have both cars, a 03 Z in which I was running a 125 wet shot and an 03 Z06 with bolt-ons. The Z06 smashes in every performance aspect, PERIOD. It handles better through the slalom and skidpad for all those that will quickly jump and say oh the z06 doesn't handle well, its a domestic. Actually they are at the top of many track events nowadays. Braking is superb as well.
I've had both. Vette wins for sure unless the driver has no experience whatsoever. The torque and gearing on the Vette creates unbelievable 0-100 times.
However in a road race, the Z will probably come out on top (provided drivers are equal). I say that because there has not been a Vette I haven't passed on a track yet and I am certainly no Dale Jr.

i think the stillen driver would have to be a lot better driver than the vette driver to manage the Z's really short gearing on a launch and having to shift more = more chances to screw up
the vette has wider tires and better weight distribution for drag racing. The Z would have to counter that somehow - maybe good wide tires and an LSD would be a good first start with that

what courses do you run at? From what I've heard and seen granted the few times I've been to events, Z06's tend to rule.

Don't get me wrong, stock for stock, the Vette wins here to. I'm however driving a car with Ap Racing brakes, Hoosier Tires, JWT TT, JIC Racing set-up etc... Off the line it's virtually impossible for me to keep up with a Z06, but once we are up to speed, that bad a$$ low end torque has no bearing on the outcome.

I'm actually building a G35 now.
PM sent ...
i thought the entire point of the JWT kit was to have some bad *** low end torque?
I take it the weight distribution is the real enemy then because with some hoosier tires, you should have no problem launching

I have a question, how much lighter is the Z than the G35? and does that weight give us the advantage? stock for stock....
and what's goin on with the race? any results yet?

Ignorance is bliss I guess.
