you know I seem to remember a thread I started long ago asking what would be needed to rev an engine to something like 8000 rpms and everyone laughed saying "why would you need to do that?" and how it's not possible

People also laughed at 400whp being achieved on a stock block; just goes to show how much we've learned about this motor in two years. Just think what will be considered common knowledge in another year.

Brian, if you arent doing anything, hit me up, we can make a quick one right now, you dont have a speed limiter anymore huh, scary! You could be at 175+ in a few seconds....

yeah if it can be proven over the next two years that 8000 rpms is totally possible and reliable within reason, I might ditch my SC setup for a TT setup and 8000 rpms. As it is, I'm not going to be able to rev past stock 6600 on my vortech cause it'd overspin the blower

I've always wanted to rev to 8000 or whatever - I mean, if a 7 liter Z06 V8 can rev to 7000, I thought surely a 3.5 liter V6 can rev higher if it had strong, lightweight internals. I'm really pumped this seems to be possible. Had I known that I would have never considered a supercharger in the first place

anyway, as it stands I'm thinking of upgrading to a setup like this in a few years - only possibly with the new rev up engine for the variable cam timing and a standalone - we'll see. My hope is to eventually get a car for handling like an elise, and turn the Z into a rocket so I don't have to rely on the Z to do both

B,
Congrats bro.....
Definitely got a monster out there. Please keep us updated on whatever issues you think are relavent concerning running this much power on the VQ good and bad (whenever you can).

As someone looking beyond your achievements I can see a nice little evolution taking place with this motor and our cars. Much like the 2JZ was 6-7years ago when 550 was considered the max. I think once this thing gets nailed down solid there'll be a lot more high HP Z's running around..

Thanks man....I can't imagine more power than this...look at the TN single turbo car in the street section walking an Intake and exhaust z06 and 500+hp supra with only 450whp....

Nice numbers and nice ride...I think they said the Supra in that race dynoed at 405 rwhp, not 500.
