I didn't use the included heatshield for about 500 miles or so when I first put my kit. Its not really going to "hurt" anything. But, your IATs will be hotter then they would be if you used it since the charge pipe passes so close to the turbine section.
I put a PTP turbo blanket on, I would recommened it.

What are you trying to accomplish by not using any sort of heat shield or turbo blanket?
Its not going to hurt your engine. I would be more worried about things contacting the turbo and melting (vacuum lines, wiring, etc). But if you have all your stuff routed safely clear of the turbine section, you will be fine. Especially if you just street drive your car and aren't in boost 95% of the time.
